Grex Photography Item 13: Airport X-rays & Photos
Entered by mcpoz on Sat Apr 29 21:17:49 UTC 1995:

Has anyone had any experience or read anything about the effects of airport
x-ray on film (in this case, 400 speed)? Is the protective lead-lined case
necessary?

I used the protector on my last trip about a year ago and no problem with the
film. There are two densities of lead protectors, one for higher speed film
(or more frequent airport scans per trip). If you care for them (don't
crease/crack the lead) they are re-usable many times.
