So do you want to hear about the dergs or the fitchies first?

I have 1 cat, a grayish, watered down "Blue Tabby", kind of hairy with that sort of cat fur that is very find and gets into EVERYTHING. He is name Dave, for no particular reason.
I have 1 husband, 2 kids, 3 permanent guinea pigs in residence and, at the moment 5 baby guineas (which will be ready for homes in about 3-5 weeks).
I have a 30 gallon tank of fish, including several varieties of tetras, danios and an upside down catfish. In the last year I've had several sharks, plecostemas, angelfish and other more exotic fish which rarely survive for more than 6 months. The ones that I have are healthy and doing fine. In the dog department, I have a wonderful beagle-terrier who is getting on in years. Skeeter was 3 when I got her about 10 years ago. She's getting to where she sleeps most of the day. Sunny is an American Eskimo (that's the new name for a variety of Spitz) who is still a big puppy. She'll get full of energy and run around the house, and then plop down beside you (or on top of you if you happen to be on the floor).

I have a 10 gallon tank with 3 koi. They are small, but eat a lot and if they survive tank life, should grow big quickly. They are Becky, the smallest, who is orange and white; Tiger Lily, the most aggressive, metallic orange and black; and Mitchell, the biggest and mettalic yellow, white and black. Mitchell and Tiger Lily come for food when you whistle, and "beg" if they are hungry. They are the neatest, most personable fish! Koi are really smart!
hi my name is harold and i own a dog he is an american pitbull terrier named magnum he's an 80LB baby
Eighty pounds? That must all be muscle! I didn't know that pit bulls could get that large. How tall is he?
Hello all, is this still being used?
I hope so, because I have a question: We have a cat who has been a great pet for the last 12 years. All of a sudden, he has decided he wants to rip out huge patches of fur. He has never done this before, but now we can find gigantic piles of cat hair on the floor. He has pulled both of his front legs almost bald and also a spot about 2" in diameter on his side. Any idea what causes this behaviour or how to stop it? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks

Probably something in the brain. This kind of behavior (I think) is usually the result of stress or other mental problems.
By now I hope that cat is better! FWIW, my experience would suggest that if there's a bug or disease involved, the de-furred skin will not be in good shape either. We had a cat once who periodically would *lick* the fur off some parts of his anatomy -- possibly flea allergy.
Waldo (the cat) is still pulling a little fur. He appears to be less neurotic now that he can get outside more.
Hello there, I thought I should stop in. :) Right now I don't have any pets living with me, but my parents have a cat and a dog, my olders sister has a cat, and my roomie and I are thinking of getting ferrets next year. :)
as in more than one ferret?
Yes actually, two of them, one for her and one for me. :)
What are they like? Similar to cats in disposition?
A guy at a pet shop Val and I visited said they are kind like forever kittenish- except that they sleep more then kittens.. Take that as you will. ;)
hello i hope people are still using this conference. I hope your cat has lost most of that stress. I don't have any pets right now because my landlord won't allow them but in the past I have had gerbils, golden retrievers, black Mollies, swordtails, zebra fish, placostomasis, crawlfish, and a mutt dog named Scout. I hang out at my friend's house to make upe for my lack of pets because he has a cocker spaniel, 3 iguanas, a chamelion, two rabbits, and a gecko. I miss my golden retrievers, though.

Low tech guinea pigs, huh? Perhaps it's time to call your local guinea pig habitat contractor ;-)
Hi. I saw a note in Agora that the pets conf was lonesome so I stopped by to say...Since I decided not to have kids my Mom has taken to calling my dog (Cinnamon) her grand-dog and carries a picture of her(Cinnamon) in her(Mom) wallet she also has a picture of my dog on her desk at work
Oh that is wonderful! My mom looked ascance at my sister for quite some time when my sister got her kitten. My sister insisted on calling my mom her kitten's Grandma. Now my mom is resigned to it, and doesn't mind my saying she's a grandma all over again since I got a kitten. :)
I suppose this works in a society where mom and dad, etc., means the same thing as caregiver.
this is wonderful having dogs and cats for grand children. by the way iam chiruand i have a lhasa apso named quli for a pet.
How old is quli?
I have a 1 yr 2 mnth old kitten (well, he's still a kitten to me) by the name of Dickens. He is a black and white striped tiger kitten. He lives up to his name 100 percent. He gets into everything! i have a web page dedicated to him...it is still under construction but here it is: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Palace/3064/dickens.html also, I will have a new and improved dickens site sometime whenever i get a chance to revamp it, under dickens1.html instead of dickens.html =)
<grins> Great page. :) Your dickens sounds a lot like my Sasha. :) Especially the bit about Q-tips and stashes under the couch... Hmm...
My house is a virtual zoo. I breed and show rabbis and currently have about 35. The breeds i currently raise are Mini Lops, Himalayans and Flemish Giants but I have also raised Rex, Holland Lops and New Zealands in the past. So if you ever need a pet or show rabbit or want more information about rabbits, please e-mail me. I also own 7 peacocks, 5 of whick are indego, one that is pied and one that is white which is quite rare. 2 of these birds were hatched in the incubator this spring and another 3 were hatched by the female this spring. Which is another rare thing because peacocks are usually terrible parents. We also have about 10 barred rock chickens and one green conure. But wait there is more. We have 7 barn cats and luckily they are all fixed so we shouldn't have to worry about getting anymore unless another stray comes to stay. We also have 5 dogs. The dalmation is almost 4 and he is a big fat baby. The Great Dane is 8, which is very old for a dane. The rotweiller is a 90 lb puppy. He is 9 months old. We also have two lab mixes that are 10 and 3. Our zoo also is home to two 55 gallon freshwater aquariums, 4 geese and 3 turkeys. My mom used to have 48 birds in the house when she was raising finches, canaries and cockateils. Luckily she has gotten rid of all of them but the conure. Anyway that's my zoo. As you can see, I really love animals.
What do you feed the rabbis?
Currently I feed 16% protien Marlett rabbit pellets. I have also fed Purina Show Formula and Performance Blend in the past with good results.
They are very good sports.
