Hmmm- I could offer my new house if we do it soon; the cats haven't been allowed in yet. Misti, thanks for thinking of it. great idea!

Only one -- but Valerie and Jan, I really think a lot of us Grexers would love to celebrate your growing family with you...we won't as a group if you really think four parties is too many for your available time and energy, but if you're being modest please don't. Just appreciate the fact that so many of us love the two (three) of you, OK?

I'd love to host it. I now have wood floors, so I can turf out the cats and vacuum, and it should be "safe". The yard is nice, too, if the weather holds. I'll be gone the weekend of Oct. 10, but other times should be ok. Misti, hope your mother-in-law is ok. What's up?
I don't really know how to evaluate what's happening. It makes me very unhappy that we're contacting attorneys funeral directors and nursing homes, though. Nancy is eating (slowly and with difficulty) soft foods like jello and apple sauce. She seems to have lost some of the movement of her head that I was so excitied about yesterday and her response time is slowing down. (Maybe she was just tired?) But her mind is quite sharp -- it's only the interface that seesm to be a problem. She's still joking (anyone know where I can rent an anti-gravity machine? It would make movement that much easier with only one arm and one leg...) and thinking of thousands of chores and errands for Larry and I to do. Me? I'm more tired and more discouraged and disheartened than I ever rememebr being in my life.
The 8/22/98 issue of Science News describes a cell transplant treatment for stroke that's shown great promise in rats and is starting trials in humans. It uses cells from Layton BioScience, but considering the potential market, there's probably dozens more research groups & bio- tech companies chasing the same prize. You've got a lot of learning ahead of you. Make sure you learn some hopeful things along with all the dull & depressing stuff.
Meet me in a few weeks in Synthesis and we talk lessons. ;)

Valerie, John Morris entered an item for me in Agora. (If you were grepping on my name in a new item, that's why you missed it...) Nancy, my mother-in-law, had a massive, very serious, life changig stroke on her 70th birthday -- last Sunday. More in the appropriate item back in Agora... ;)

Thanks, valerie. You seem to be busy on the 10th and the 18th of October. How does November 1st sound...? That obviates a picnic, but gives you a few days off after your bust period -- but should be early enough not to have you off birthing somewhere during the birthday party... What say, everyone else?

Sounds like November 1 is a go! Now to find a location with neither smoke nor cats....
Hey, maybe I'll go to ANOTHER baby shower :).

As far as I' m concerend it's still on, Valerie -- we haven't found a place yet, so I'm leaning toward Mr. Mugs or Gypsy Moon. Which do you prefer?

OK, great, I'll make the announcement in Agora today...
