Looking for people to discuss this up and coming rpg. Its been around for quite some time, but with the seeming rebirth of Starwars Fandom the game is taking a sharp swing in the upwards direction.

I have actually played it, it was fun while it lasted.
Is this Fandom thing a change of company or just some extension of the system? I have played Star Wars for 3/4 of a year at a role-playing club at my college. I believe that I mentioned this before, but my character is a human bounty hunter, also the pilot of a peacekeeper class stardestroyer which has been taken over by the rebillion - all I can say is, "It has been . . . intersting!"
I've played it, sorta.....It was during my eighth grade year, the 8th grade took a trip, by bus, from Chelsea to Wash DC...The person that i sat next to had the books with him, and sort of taught me how to play....It was basically just a time-killing campaign, though, no real plot, just running around fightin the Empire's ships...
I'v played. I attempted to run a campaign, was very well planned, but was too strict. didn't leave much room for characters to "wing it". Lost interest quickly, sorta because no-one was a true start-wars fan.
Star Wars is good, though I'll admit I've never played it straight. I have used the system as a player in a Pulp game, but would probably prefer the interpritive mythical feel of Everway (with some more science fiction based vision cards) for Star Wars, since whle the original Costikian gamesis good, it's a bit too deterministic, and doesn't really capture the mythical feel of the movies.
I've played it a couple of times; run it once. It's fun, although it's set up so that it's a little harder to role-play than some games. Still possible, though - one campaign I was in was truly excellent in that respect. Ignore the - one-on-the-off-colored-die-means-you-screw-up rule in the new version, though. We eventually replaced it with the Shadowrun critical failure rule.
I've never found the system to be harder to roleplay in -- it's simple, threfore easy to roleplay with. But the one-on-the-off-diue rule sounds incredibly stupid -- it means that even a jedi master wil screw up one time out of 6.
So, is someone going to start a campaign or whatever you call it? I can GM if absolutly no one else wants to.
I it's on grex count me *OUT*!
Wellll?!?!?! woops.
Dismiss that last response. was having problems reading Eld's response so had to enter something
count me out to!!!
WHAT"S WRONG WITH THE WILD DIE RULE?!?!?!?!?!?
Wuff da. I would join, but with a system like Star Wars, I'd rather play it in person. (and personna)
I like the wild die rule. but if we get a group together, we should take a vote. (my offer to GM still stands. I own the sourcebook. and know someone who has almost every add-on book)
<kain will play>
<bjorn malicously tickles kain>
Yay. we have people!!!
So. Do we wait for more people, start now, or start now and let people join in the middle of the campiagn? and who will GM?
<kain doesn't know>
Well, I would play, but I have one week until exams and lots of papers due before then, so, if you're allowing people in the middle of the campaign, then I'd be happy to play, starting a little over a week from today...BTW, this is in person, right?
So, what are we waiting for? Let's play. (SNAFU gets impatient sometimes, like now!)
Rules make
Ok. yup. Whatever. this is another buffer so-I can-read the last response thing
Question: A Light Repeating Blaster : How amny times a round can it be fired?
starwolf, how about we start playing before we figure that out? that way, I (or whoever else GMs) will ahve the book, and if you don't have one, it's nopt a problem. But I will check, and I will have info for you tomorrow. My rule book has gone AWOL. MUST START!! SNAFU want's to blow up stormtroopers!!!!
A T-21 Light Repeating Blaster can fire as many times per round as you want or have ammo for. But I think (or know) that there is a penalty for doing more than one thing in a round. (Don't quote me on that one 'till I do serious rule reading. But It's pretty sure.)
Snafu, that's true for *any* blaster weapon. In that case, why call it a *repeating* blaster?
Snafu has checked his rulebook, and yes, for any amount of actions numbering more than 1, you perform EVERY action that round at -xD where x is however many actions more than 1 you have. E.G. if you have 2 actions, you do both at -1D. 3 actions, -2D, 4 -> -3D, etc. Are we going to play this on party? here? a new item without all this opening junk? in person? any combination of the above? And when do we start? and who's GM? Me? anakin? Mneme? Ariel? starwolf? who wants to?
And I have NO idea starwolf. It hust is. all I care about is the fact that it does 6D damage.
A Heavy blaster rifle does 5D and it isn't nearly as cumbersome! Give it an Advantage, here!
<kain makes a suggestion> Start time:whenever we get things made Gm:SNAFU Place:New item Use of this item:Post how to make characters and use this as a character creation log
Okay, if Snafu is GM'ing, SNAFU, what kind ogf game do you want to run? I'm up for making a character for this, but I kinda need some insparation/ framework (or I could draw some tarot cards, I guess).
I can run whatever you folks want. It can be Rebel alliance based, new republic based, or anything in between. You can be members of the alliance/republic, or not. I'd rather do not, but if you absolutly want to be members, I can work with it.
<kain is confused so he'll let other ppl decide.
I have a nice campaign that will work well, either Alliance or non, but I'd prefer non. I can start doing character sheets soon, if no-one has any objections to me GMing. Last call? Please mail me your character race & any questions, an I'll work the begining sheet, which I'll then send to you for adding of starting dice, background, etc.
I don't remember any of this, remind me in school.
