help combat this scourge of scarcity this item has been entered, it's
        perpose:
to compile a list of all the Gamers on Grex. Simple enter what games you play,
where you live (generally for those of you afraid of merauding hackers) and

I mainly play just Magic and occasionally AD&D, but I'm always willing to
try something new, especially if its about medieval wizards and dragons. I
live way up in the freezing north that is Gaylord.

Hero (all flavors) GURPS Storyteller (all once again) Rolemaster Amber
Over the Edge and several others that I for some reason I can't think of off
hand.
Magic the addiction, On the Edge, Space Hulk, Great Dalmuti, 40K tabletop,
Centurion, and several more.
I like to try out new things. I've been known to run one-shot games for other
people who want to try something different.

#7 of 22 by mneme on Mon Apr 1 23:07:29 1996:

My mainstays are Over the Edge, Everway, and Call of Cthulhu,
but I've played many, many systems, including but not limited to
Gurps, Storyteller, Toon, Hero, TFOS, V&V, and even Shadowrun, D&D,
and TNT (though I'm less than likely to play those last few).
I also play live action games(simulated combat), Shadowfist,
On the Edge(muilt and Omni) , INWO, sometimes magic.
Hell, I even play non-traditionaly board/card games like
Icehouse, great Dalmuti, Once Apon A Time (highly recomended, pretty,
cheaper 2nd edition came out this year), Cosmic, and a few other games
(NUKE WAR! Wiz WAR!).
But..I haven't seen much from people here in the NYC area...

Oh, Matthey -- you wouldn't be interested in an OMNI ONTE (or
even a regular ONTE) game by party, would you?
And I'd love to play in anytihg interesting here...

OMNI ONTE ? I'm not familiar with that term.
I forgot to mention, I'm in Ann Arbor.

#9 of 22 by mneme on Tue Apr 2 18:56:12 1996:

ONTE is On the Edge, natchurally. OMNI is a wonderful OntE League,
started by Jonathan Tweet, which allows a very easy entry into the
game, while removing the question of money from deckbuilding. THere
is no central authority for thise league, though Andrew Herington
keeps and occasionally sneds out a roster of players /decks/scores;
you just have to dedicate a deck as your omni league deck before
opening it. The rather simple rules follow:
Dedicate a starter deck as your omni deck before opening it.
Open it. You cannot change the contents of it in any way, by
trading, or replacing cards from your collection, except by winning
cards from other omni players as described below.
Tune it; the part that you chose to play with (as few as 40
cards) is your play deck; the rest is your 'reserves'.
You can freely change around deck and reserves between games.
When you play another OMNI player, you can chose to each bet
one card from your deck or reserve (if it's from your deck, you can
still play with it); this is by agrement only, so you never lose a
card you didn't want to risk, and wuill more often than not, get a
card that helps you when you win. Stick a mark or sign on cards you
lose, and name your deck (this is just coolness, but in actual play,
yes a card with 5 signatures is more likely to be heavily wieghted,
even if it's otherwise useless).
Have fun -- your score is represented as x/y, where x is the
number of cards in your deck, and y is the number of games you've
played for stakes.
Oh, Multiplayer OMNI is quite possible/fun, either with
winner-takes-all or with "vicious circle" (winner takes all except for
the person on her right, so you have a stake in letting the person to
your left win if you can't).
