these are some of the best systems right now
and they are comming on strong in the market
of RPG's, beating out AD&D by a long shot!! so if you do or
do not like them we now have a place to talk about them!!

I know this sounds stupid, but is Jyhad an accurate game to Vampire:the
Masquerade?

#3 of 95 by matthew on Mon Apr 10 18:39:53 1995:

RE#2: It provides an abstract view of the struggle between the great power
powers of the vampires.
My favorite of the bunch is Vampire. My least favorite is Werewolf, and the
others fall inbetween. I'm interested to see what they will do with Changeling
this year (if they're still planning on releasing it this year). Mechanicas
wise they need some work, but concept wise the world they've created is rather
intrigiueing.

plork, i've played Jyhad, and i do not think it is very close to the masq
as for you matthew, i like werewolf most and mage least

#6 of 95 by draken on Wed Apr 12 09:40:39 1995:

if you get a good storyteller for any of these games, ask them to make you a
good prelude, it helps make up your flaws and merits!!!
have fun!

#7 of 95 by matthew on Wed Apr 12 16:04:57 1995:

One of the best Vampire games I've been in started the campaign with a
mini-adventure/story set about a year before the actual beginning of the
campaign. It grew into a 6 session long story. The purpose, which it
accomplished very well, was to introduce the characters to eachother and
gice them some common backround with eachother.

kool

#9 of 95 by draken on Thu Apr 13 02:34:50 1995:

yes matthew you should start it about at least a month before so that the
charicters know what they are like!

#10 of 95 by phreakus on Thu Apr 13 16:21:04 1995:

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Intermixing the three systems
is COOL if you can find a Storyteller who can pull it off.

#11 of 95 by draken on Sat Apr 15 09:32:23 1995:

my st pulls it off every time we play!!! we have a mage in a pack of
werewolf!!!

#15 of 95 by draken on Tue Apr 18 05:15:37 1995:

kain, White Wolf is a gaming company that has realy cool games!!
you should go to your local bookstore and look for werewolf, mage, masqurade
wraith, and jyhad
they are much better than tsr's system

#16 of 95 by matthew on Tue Apr 18 13:38:02 1995:

White Wolf is also the name of the magazine the same-named company.
Their claim to fame is the creation of a contempoaray horror genre
of games, all set in a somewhat darker drearier version of our world.
Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Wraith, Changeling (due out this summer) are
theri rpgs. They've got a LARP based on the Vampire game, and a ppile
of support/peripheral material : books, shirts, co-creation of the
card game Jyhad, short story anthologies.

#17 of 95 by kain on Tue Apr 18 20:31:28 1995:

#18 of 95 by phreakus on Thu Apr 20 15:18:43 1995:

You think YOUR pack is strange?? I have a 3rd (technically 4th) Rank Glass
Walker Galliard/part-time Thuerge, Two mages(1 Cult of Ecstasy, 1 Akashic
Brother), tow vampires (1 malkavian, 1 Gangrel), a Bastet Khan (weretiger)
a Fetish computer with an ego the size of a small galaxy, and the WEIRDEST
Net-Spider in existence. (His name is "Mike").

#19 of 95 by draken on Fri Apr 21 22:32:19 1995:

story teller!! :)

#20 of 95 by toking on Sat Apr 22 04:21:07 1995:

Well, according to me, the best system out, so far, for the world of darkness
is wraith Take it or leave it

#21 of 95 by kain on Sun Apr 23 02:53:53 1995:

#24 of 95 by draken on Tue May 2 03:31:28 1995:

i play minds-eye, if that is what you are talking about.
they have it for masqurade and werewolf.

#25 of 95 by kain on Tue May 2 19:51:55 1995:

what's that?

#26 of 95 by phreakus on Wed May 3 17:19:10 1995:

The Storyteller is weird, not soft. You mess up, you explode in new and
unusual ways, especially Mages.

#27 of 95 by kain on Wed May 3 20:35:22 1995:

YEZ! PYRO!

#28 of 95 by setzer on Thu May 4 20:03:03 1995:

Silent Striders and my friends, the Bone Gnawers,Mummies and Werebeasts like

#36 of 95 by emphyrio on Tue May 16 17:39:03 1995:

In my rpg club we've used the Street Fighter rules to play a Martial
Tournament. But using it for rpg is'nt possible, the scenarii are stupid and
there is interest in playing such characters!

#37 of 95 by draken on Tue May 23 05:54:20 1995:

like i said, that game just don't count, if you bellive, it's true!!!!
oh well, if you have to belive in it, than i don't!!!

#38 of 95 by emphyrio on Tue May 23 09:10:10 1995:

I've just tried the new cards game named RAGE. Like JYHAD, it's a wonderful
game for WEREWOLF players. Gifts, rituals, moots, ... are present in the
game. The art of the cards is good and the play is fun.

#39 of 95 by kain on Wed May 24 01:27:23 1995:

I still say they're mostly magic wanna-bes
