How many people here liked Breath of fire, I'm thinking about buying it but I
don't know

One other thing did anyone like Paladin's Quest?

#4 of 20 by jsr on Tue Feb 14 15:50:59 1995:

I'd also like to hear about Paladin's Quest. I was really disappointed
by Breath of Fire, maybe because I was expecting more. I thought
the story was really boring (I don't even remember it now). Games
I thought were better: Shadowrun (excellent, but too short),
The 7th Saga (pretty run-of-the-mill, but has a few interesting
twists), Lufia & the Fortress of Doom (above average all-around).

why did breath of fire suck?

#6 of 20 by jsr on Tue Feb 14 21:27:22 1995:

I wouldn't say it sucked. I'd score it 5, maybe 6 on a scale of
1 to 10. From the hype I was hearing, I expected an 8 or 9.
The game was plenty long, but had a very "linear" plot, like FF2.
That would've been OK, if the plot was interesting, (like FF2 was),
but the plot stunk. Other aspects of the game, graphics, etc.,
were pretty decent.

Oh, thanks jsr, kain was abouto get that game, but who knows

About Breath of Fire: 7th Saga has better graphics. Some characters,
particul[[C[C[3~ters, particularly NPCs, looked quite stupid in BOF. That is my
only complaint. FF3 has a better plot. There is a Japanese game for the Super
Famicom called Feda: The Emblem of Justice That looks to be what BOF was
supposed to be. Designed by the same lovable morons who brought you Shining
Force series. I would recommend it to any who can read Japanese. (Wish I
could.)

It's okay, but far too easy!

#11 of 20 by plork on Fri Mar 10 14:21:51 1995:

Well, it IS cool, but kain's right, it doesn't seem that challenging. Reminds
me of Mystic Quest!

#12 of 20 by jsr on Fri Mar 10 17:04:50 1995:

I confess that I kind of liked Mystic Quest. Since I was expecting it
to be pretty easy, I guess its easiness didn't bother me as much as
it might have.

It COULD have been a pretty cool games, but they gave that up when they
added the little arrows that tell you exactly where to go. It takes all
the challenge out of the game. And battle fields? Give me a break!!!
They totally bombed it there.

#14 of 20 by kain on Mon Mar 13 02:16:18 1995:

I rented it and won it so I guess you could say it was a bit to easy But I
sorta liked it

#15 of 20 by phreakus on Fri Mar 17 18:50:57 1995:

FF-MQ was'nt my favorite, either. Secret of Mana was cool, though.

#16 of 20 by kain on Sat Mar 18 20:51:51 1995:

Guys, I just got paladin's quest recently; a couple questions; 1 where is
NAILSthe retainer? 2 where is the Gomutay sword? and any other tips; I'd much
appreciate!

#17 of 20 by kain on Sun Mar 19 02:21:36 1995:

NEver mind about NAILS I found him; I'm at that point in the game (told you I
learn fast) but I just wonder if there's anyway to heal him at all? and those
game genie codes would still be nice! thanx yup

#18 of 20 by plork on Fri Mar 24 00:22:52 1995:

Yeah, Jon gotr it used, and the guy who had it before him had the Gumatai and
the storm armor, AND two (no less) Gabni shields. (we're still wondering if
this guy was obsessed, being that ALL his magic scores on ALL people was full.
GOD!!)

#19 of 20 by kain on Fri Mar 24 02:48:22 1995:

yup; again
