and5 black vises, you can stick this into any deck, IT'S ALL ARTIFACT!!!!!!

#3 of 257 by seveners on Tue Feb 21 12:36:34 1995:

Just one problem with that. Thrown in a few shatterstorms and your deck is
history. By the way, I'm looking for a Lord of the Pit, Royal Assassin, and
most duel-lands. Let me know if anybody has any of these.

#4 of 257 by kain on Wed Feb 22 01:11:27 1995:

I'm looking for a royal assasin and nightmare, and a master of the hunt!!!!!!

#5 of 257 by seveners on Wed Feb 22 01:37:09 1995:

I know it's not the same as a Royal Assassin or a Nightmare, but does anyone
out there want a Shivan Dragon? If so, either mail me or post what you're
offering here.

#6 of 257 by phreakus on Wed Feb 22 18:46:36 1995:

Also looking for Jedit Ojanen (I LOVE the picture) and the wolf-howl version of
Hymn to Tourach. Can trade by mail.

#8 of 257 by kain on Wed Feb 22 20:54:15 1995:

Mee, too, does anyone have a master of the hunt?

#9 of 257 by plork on Thu Feb 23 01:03:11 1995:

Well, kain, I thought you said that you wouldn't freeze anything else, but try
5 thrull champs, 5 breeding pits, 5 bad moons, 5 keldon warriors and other
interspersed cards (or if you're not tournement, put in more!!) You get five
10/11 craetures/trn etc

#10 of 257 by kain on Thu Feb 23 02:48:54 1995:

Nice, but my deck would devour you before you got half or that out! And I
froze the other one because we can talk about it here!

#11 of 257 by sidhe on Thu Feb 23 15:48:49 1995:

I am forgetting this item. MTG is nothing less than a complete
waste of time, and highly <frighteningly> addictive to those it doesn't
nauseate.

#12 of 257 by seveners on Thu Feb 23 21:05:20 1995:

Yeah, so what's your point?

#13 of 257 by kain on Thu Feb 23 21:16:02 1995:

MTG is a fun game, got somthin against that?

#14 of 257 by plork on Fri Feb 24 20:57:22 1995:

MTG is cool, Evil is cooler

Magic: the Gathering bites the big one. Star Trek: t NG is MUCH better.
btw: Wargames are much closer to rpg's than magic, you can incorporate plenty
of rpg into wargames (i.e. battletech/mechwarrior, or shadowrun/dmz)
while magic just leaves you hanging.
Magic is dying. Sell your cards while you still can.
I first started Magic after betas came out, and got out 3 months ago, when I
that Dark didn't sell out.
Heed my words.

#24 of 257 by matthew on Tue Feb 28 15:09:43 1995:

If you're into magic to sell cards then it's dying. The people into collecting
have for the most part got what they want. Wizards of the Coast
is also taking steps to cut down on the inflated value of some cards.
If you're into the game to play it is far from dead. There are still
many people playing all over the place.

#28 of 257 by wjj on Thu Mar 2 15:34:29 1995:

Has anyone noticed that the latest batch of Revised Starter Packs are being
packaged with three rares instead of two?

Also, I'm just curious if anyone else has encountered a box of boosters like we
found here in Alma. Every pack we bought (this is a group of about 10 players
here, each buying one or 2 RV booster packs) had the same three uncommons
polus a rare. I bought a pack with three Serras and a Winter Orb; my other
pack had 3 demonic tutors and a Nether Shadow. [Usually, you get three
different uncommons and a rare].

finally, on to trading: i have a CoP: Artifact from AQ that i'm looking
to trade for a Fallen Angel from LG. I've got some other LG uncommons I'd
like to trade for Fallen Angels as well. Mail me here or over internet at
JohnstonB@alma.edu (note the b in that address) if you're interested [if
you've got other cool cards you'd like to trade i'm open to other offers
for the CoP as well).

oh, i'm also looking to do some Unlimited Star Trek trading for those of you
who also play Trek. I've got Will Riker and am looking to trade for Data.
I can throw something else in to even the trade.

thanks

On occasion the randomizer at Carta Mundi ( that's the company that prints
the cards for those who didn't know) freaks out. Ther have been a few
incidents of 'god' decks, where starter decks were packed with 5 to 15 rares.
Dosen't happen often, but it does happen.

#30 of 257 by wjj on Fri Mar 3 05:59:43 1995:

actually, i had a friend who got one of those RV boosters w/ 10 rares in it.
but, my point about the RV starters is that i read somewhere that WotC was
intentionally packaging starters w/ 3 rares, in order to entice people
to buy starters so that they could free up the booster-packaging
equipment for Ice Age.

#31 of 257 by matthew on Fri Mar 3 18:17:01 1995:

That's news to me !

#32 of 257 by kain on Fri Mar 3 19:47:02 1995:

Woah could you explain that in a little more detale?

#33 of 257 by wjj on Mon Mar 6 05:09:53 1995:

Apparently, WotC decided to start putting 3 rares in RVstarter boxes.
The reason I heard was that it was to entice players to buy starters
instead of boosters, because they wanted to use the booster packaging machine
to
package Ice Age boosters. Whether that's the reason or not, everyone I've
talked to who has bought a starter recently (these are people across the
country) has gotten 3 rares in it instead of the customary two.

Also, (this is just something I heard from the local magic retailer), what
RV is left in stores and distributors and warehouses is the last RV we'll
see. Next comes Ice Age and then RV 2 (or whatever they're going to call the
next basic series), which will rotate out some cards and rotate in replacements
from LG, DK, and FE (much as cards in UL were rotated out and cards from
AN and AQ were rotated in to RV).

Which brings up another topic: top bets for cards that will not be in the
new RV set. any guesses/rumors/facts here? stuff i've heard has included:
elimination of the ante cards and the laces, elimination of the dark ritual.
anyone heard anything else? [sorry to be a rumormonger]

#34 of 257 by kain on Mon Mar 6 22:07:35 1995:

that's okay, but ice age IS the next long term one all revised is outa there!

#35 of 257 by kain on Wed Mar 8 03:01:15 1995:

Ultamate combo here, play these cards together, fire and brimstone, blood of
the Martyr and reverse damage burn all oponents creaturs save all yours do 6
damage to him and gain a huge amount of life, now that's nasty

#36 of 257 by wjj on Wed Mar 8 14:34:04 1995:

don't you mean "inferno" instead of fire and brimstone?

#37 of 257 by kain on Thu Mar 9 02:51:03 1995:

yeah, that's what I ment, thanks

#38 of 257 by plork on Fri Mar 10 14:39:25 1995:

For whom it may concern... I have a Shivan dragon that is up for trades (well
almost!) OR a force of nature, However I don't wish to part with my
Shapeshifter. Anyone got a collosus they're willing to trade?

#39 of 257 by wjj on Fri Mar 10 15:23:40 1995:

as i've only been playing since the very end of "the dark," i don't have much
access to the big OOP cards (moxen, timetwister, ancestral recall, etc)
so, i'm just curious, what's evereyone's favorite (or most effective) all
Revised deck (or, say, RV, DK, FE)? what sort of strategies
do you use to get stuff out quickly (besides dark ritual, lawnmower elves,
wild growth)?

also, in the trade dept, i have Gabriel Angelfire, and I'm looking for
Urza's Avenger...hopefully to trade straight up (i think their scrye values
are comparable) or maybe i can come up w/ a little something as a sweetener.
