I am planning an expedition grade hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in its entirity of 2857 or so miles to begin in Mid-April of a couple of years or so and extend for 5 to 5 1/2 months of that year until late September or Early October. This is only now in the very early planning stages. Any experiences, comments or ideas would be very welcome.

I have no direct experience with the PCT, but one Usenet group you might check out is rec.backcountry. PCT discussions come up quite regularly.
Here's a post to rec.backcountry that might be worth an email reply: From: uphillbill@aol.com (UphillBill) Newsgroups: rec.backcountry Subject: PCT Thru-Hiking Info Date: 9 Sep 1995 23:45:52 -0400 Organization: America Online, Inc. I thru-hiked the PCT in '94 (and the AT in '93) and have prepared a long letter that I sent to several friends who expressed an interest in doing the PCT. I would be happy to send it anyone considering a thru-hike or long section hike. It was a spectacular experience I will always treasure. UphillBill@aol.com
