I take it that you use a different definition of "nature" than the
average newspaper... (thankfully).

#3 of 43 by lnf on Tue Jul 7 00:45:53 1992:

questions about camping, fishing, etc, leave a message." ."

I live in a small town called Roslyn in WA. With a population of 800, and a
lcation in the foothills of the Cascades it is pure heaven B)

#6 of 43 by rcurl on Fri Apr 29 06:52:51 1994:

I passed by Cle Elum last summer (enroute from Seattle to Pendleton), just
a hop from Roslyn. It is indeed beautiful country.

#7 of 43 by kentn on Fri Apr 29 14:28:47 1994:

Wow, mojo, that sounds nice, quiet, and beautiful. Enjoy.

#8 of 43 by srw on Fri Apr 29 18:18:33 1994:

I love mountains. Too bad there aren't any in lower Michigan.
About 10 years ago a good friend and coworker decided to leave our company.
He got a job at Tektronix in Beaverton (or around there).
When our boss asked him if there was *anything* he could do to convince
the guy not to leave, he said he was going because he wanted mountains.

The next day (his last) he came in to work to find that he had a lot of
nice mountainous scenery painted on his glass windows with whiteboard colors,
but he left anyway.

Hey, let's organize a Grexpedition to Roslyn, WA this summer.
(j/k ..., well maybe not) Wish I were there.

#9 of 43 by slynne on Sat May 28 16:15:57 1994:

Oh well, I can tell already that I am going to like this conference
I am *really* into hiking/backpacking/camping etc. I would be more
of a gear nerd if I had more money but I am pretty bad. I love being
outside and there is something about being in the country that clears
my mind. :)

#10 of 43 by repoman on Wed Sep 7 15:51:01 1994:

what do you desire?

#11 of 43 by nephi on Wed Dec 21 11:55:54 1994:

I love nature. I think that I may just become a camp counselor just so
I can be surrounded by the beauty of nature all the time.

I love camping, canoeing, hiking, biking, and just *being* in the forest.
I wish I were there now....

#12 of 43 by spartan on Wed Dec 21 17:13:28 1994:

Me too.

#13 of 43 by remmers on Fri Dec 23 03:03:41 1994:

It's pretty cold in the forest tonight.

#14 of 43 by spartan on Fri Dec 23 15:33:24 1994:

Maybe so, but at least there's no snow anymore.

#15 of 43 by nephi on Sat Dec 24 16:49:58 1994:

Which forest were *you* talking about? I did not necessarily mean a cold
forest. For all you know, I could have been talking about a tropical rain
forest (or *any* forest in the southern hemisphere, for that matter).

By the way, although I hate the cold, I love being in nature so much that
I do camp even when the temperature is low. I do, however, much prefer
warm weather.

#16 of 43 by kentn on Sat Dec 24 19:16:11 1994:

Walking in the forest during Winter is a great experience.

#17 of 43 by thesexy1 on Fri Jan 20 23:04:04 1995:

i like the woods, but only in the summer 'cause the winter is too cold and fall
and spring are good, too... here's a poem about nature and the woods: THE
FOREST The birds sing a song, er, i messed up...: THE FOREST The birds sing a
song That takes the worries Away from me. And they put my soul At ease, when I
walk Through the forest.

When the trees whisper
To me,"Don't worry.
Forget your cares." I listen.
And I feel happy, and I feel
Light, when I sit
In the forest.

The winds seem to blow
All my troubles away.
And I feel on top of the World, like I could
Conquer all, when I
Leave the forest.
well, is it good? i like it 'cause of the way i actually feel in the forest
(woods, whatever)

Whoa, I had forgotten about this conference. I am glad to see it is still
here. :)

#19 of 43 by scott on Fri Apr 19 23:38:26 1996:

Interesting....

This is my first day in the nature conference. Very interesting! I guess
I'll have to thank Robh's Intro conference for helping me find this.

I suppose I knew about it but never thought of *trying* it, although I can't
at all figure out why. :)

#20 of 43 by srw on Sun Apr 21 03:08:24 1996:

Welcome to Nature, Scott.

#21 of 43 by freida on Wed Jun 5 03:01:52 1996:

Plenty of forest and nature to be had at this year's Grexstock 96 at freida's
farm in the "mountains" of West Virginia...y'all come!

#22 of 43 by ravip on Mon Jul 8 09:06:21 1996:

#23 of 43 by katie on Sat Jul 13 05:14:31 1996:

It's over.

#24 of 43 by freida on Sat Jul 20 04:41:44 1996:

#26 of 43 by hokshila on Fri Dec 6 00:52:14 1996:

I love nature..spending time outside is the best medicine...I love hiking and
camping and just spending time living with the land....

#27 of 43 by lee on Fri Dec 6 22:16:45 1996:

I was depressed earlier today, so I went for a walk. It did wonders for my
mood, to be outside and all!

#28 of 43 by denise on Sun Dec 8 15:51:38 1996:

That's the wonderful thing about the wonderful outdoors--its so theraputic!

BTW, my license plate reads: NJOYNATR [which translates to ENJOY NATURE]!
 :-)

#29 of 43 by bruin on Sun Dec 8 16:24:34 1996:

RE #28 Denise is from NC, which allows up to 8 characters on its personalized
license plates.

#30 of 43 by lee on Mon Dec 9 05:12:09 1996:

It's too bad the limit isn't 12 characters :)
<lee pictures a license plate saying ENJOY NATURE and grins>

#31 of 43 by rcurl on Mon Dec 9 07:16:13 1996:

Maybe you could register your car twice and get two plates.... or,
maybe there is an 8-letter expression for it in another language. Nature
wouldn't care that its not in English.

#32 of 43 by denise on Wed Dec 11 00:54:56 1996:

Yep, bruin is correct that we get up to 8 characters for our plates [ie,
letters, numbers, OR punctuation--so there has been some rather interesting
personalize plates out here! :-) ]

#33 of 43 by lee on Wed Dec 11 04:09:22 1996:

<wonders what kind of creative plates people come up with>

#34 of 43 by e4808mc on Fri Dec 13 02:18:06 1996:

Lee, check out the bumpersticker and license plate item in agora. Lots of
creative plates there.

#35 of 43 by hokshila on Fri Dec 13 23:56:15 1996:

If any one can get me a penn lisense plate with an owl on it, I 'd be the
happy owl. Wouldn't it be better for the environment if the plate was a part
of the bumper and stayed with the car throughout the car (bumpers) life?

#36 of 43 by bruin on Sat Dec 14 01:36:02 1996:

RE #35 Pennsylvania also has a license plate that reads "Save Wild Animals"
and shows a tiger and her cub. They also have the strikingly beautiful
(although somewhat illegible) "Flagship Niagara" plate. Quite a contrast from
the odd/even reversal of blue and yellow.

#37 of 43 by slynne on Sun Dec 15 19:24:17 1996:

re #35 Owl, youre a friend of keats's arent you ;)

#38 of 43 by hokshila on Sun Dec 15 22:02:48 1996:

Keats? KEATS? Did he get in here?

        set KEATS.FILTER=ON

#39 of 43 by karthiee on Tue Feb 22 03:35:25 2000:

we use resourses from nature but we not give respect to it, we cheat
nature, by CFC ,CO,CO2,numberless chemical products include agent
orange .if we co ordinate with nature it wil give more & more to us.
