Re #3: Yep, that's Kerry Mills' "Whistling Rufus", an early cakewalk composition (circa 1900 or so) from the ragtime era, played on the banjo or similar instrument. Sounds like the recording might date from that era too. Do you happen to know who the performer is?
Nope, I first read up Whistling Rufus in School Boy Stories - P.G.Wodehouse. I was curious so i googled it. :)
