This was my attempt to dial in this morning. The second attempt just gave me
the generic "connection closed" message. Is this an M-net problem or a wwnet
problem?

i got that this morning too.. once it even let me log on befor showing the fork message. usually i would get disconnected before i had a chance to log on.
I think trex's idlekiller has gone crazy... its saying "No more processes." whenever I try to type something.
something was forking like crazy, which could likely be the idle zapper (because it runs as root, which doesn't have a limited number of processes).
Don't you do process accounting?
yes.
Should be pretty easy to find out what went amok then.
true. i believe that it had already been verified before checking.
>*** FINAL System shutdown message from stytest@m-net.arbornet.org *** >System going down IMMEDIATELY >cuz stuff is wrong What's goin' on?

M-net seems to be down now at least for dial-ins and telnet.

I havent had any trouble accessing it via webyapp
for some reason i can log onto mnet, but then it just sits there like a limp dick.
And this is different than how it usually is?
I'd figure it's at least there like a rigid dick. *shrug*
