Grex Micros Item 140: Hiding tasks form the Windoze 95 task manager
Entered by n8nxf on Mon Dec 4 21:26:51 UTC 1995:

A friend of mine has a Windoze 95 question: How does one write a program,
that runs under 95, such that a user can not terminate it via the task
manager? He's trying to write software that tracks Windoze 95 usage
and he doesn't want the user terminating it. Any ideas?

I haven't seen a way to do that -- everything, including the shell, that I've
had experience with has been terminatable by the user -- but even if you
could write such a program it would be easy enough for somebody to just make
whatever it was not start on bootup and then reboot. Maybe the answer is to
go to NT.
