There's a website called www.cheesecake.com that's hosted by Kraft that has a bunch of cool recipes [and not just cheesecake]. I found a recipe that's pretty similar to the one my mom used to make and another one for a seasoned parmeasan chicken. I haven't really browsed through a lot of them yet but I plan to soon! Mary, what was the name of that blog that you've mentioned before? I know I've looked at it before but haven't checked it out in awhile.
I go to foodtv.com a fair bit. Even if I have a cookbook, it's nice to just download a recipe and tape it to a cupboard while I'm working and if it gets trashed, be able to get it again.
Oops, that recipe similar to what my Mom used to make is cherry cheesecake.
I follow 13 food blogs but only a few of them offer practical recipes for home cooking. My favorite cooking blog is Simply Recipes, at: http://www.elise.com/recipes/ I have a binder of keeper recipes, things I make on a regular basis. From Simply Recipes I see I've now added: Beef Goulash Ratatouille & Sausages Zucchini with Thyme Beef, Barley and Vegetable Soup Now, these are all pretty much war-horse fixin's. But Elise tends to season things just right, for my taste. So I tend to try her version of a dish and, more often than not, find her's to be better.
Here is a link to a caterer's blog that I find fascinating: http://www.thefoodwhore.com
Mary, I'll have to check these out. And what is the blog of the person here in AA? She talks about restaurants, food, etc., but I forget what the site acutally is called.
I think that Denise was originally asking about Lisa's site www.kitchenchick.com
Yep, that's it! Thanks, Glenda.
The other day, I went back to the cheesecake.com website that I had visited earlier, but instead of finding the Kraft stuff, I found a site that looked like one of those places that you could order cheesecakes from and it wasn[t the kraft site at all. So I'm wondering how I got the kraft site from there earlier AND Kraft did use the cheesecake.com on one of their commercials on tv, or so I thought. So I did a goole search and did find the recipe I wanted for my cheesecake that I wanted from Kraft, but don't recall what it was. I'll have to doublecheck it and repost it here.
I just came across the website: bulkfoods.com -- a site where you can order small to large amounts of lots of different food items, seasonings, etc. They list the retail on each thing and then it lists its wholesale price. So--if you don't have access to or want to go to the food co-op, this could work for you.
Denise, if you ever want me to pick you up some spices (I can get them in bulk incredibly cheap), let me know.
Thanks, Edina; I'll let you know. Somewhere along the line, I do want to check out the local food co-ops, though. I've never been to one.
