Welcome rchakra, poornima, bcrist, and garima.  Don't let ryan1's rudeness
stop you from joining in our conferencing.
If you are having a problem while you enter a response, type :help at the
beginning of a new line, and you can see a whole set of commands.  
Also, typing help at a prompt will give you a list of commands available at
that point.

I just said in coop that I'm willing to take over as intro FW.  I will handle
the chores of linking and unlinking items here.

I'm not willing to do it alone, however.  I don't make it to a lot of the
interesting items on grex on my own, so I'm going to have to depend on people
who see interesting items going anywhere out there to send me some mail
suggesting that an item be linked to intro.

So, who is willing to help me do this?  Or should Intro just stay dormant
until robh returns?

And if you know who would be willing and able to do a better job at this than
me, speak up!

I'm not interested in being a fw, but I will send email about stuff in
conferences I frequent.  Do you visit music, cinema, and the other art/media
conferences?  I don't, and some of Intro's best links seem to come from those.
(Which is why I won't fw).

That is the part of my .cflist which I regularly read.  I think I'll move lang
and movies fairly high on the list, now that you mention it.  I guess I could
start following a couple others if they're interesting to me and near the top
of historical intro favorites.

Welcome to Grex. Yes, most of us speak something akin to English - American
English. If you post responses you will usually get responses in turn. 
However I would say you seem to already have a good command of English.

why not enter a new item especially for this. That way, you can share it 
with other ppl. And maybe the best conference to introduce it is the 
Language Conference. 

I agree with Yenny. Terrence, go ahead and enter the new item. We
are game for any game :) One question though: how do you decide that
a response is the *funniest* one? When do you decide that there are
no more funnier ones to come?

Thanx yenny & aticus - I am a bit new around here so someone send me a mail
telling me how to start a new conference in grex. Well - I would typically
give grexers 5 working days (Sats & Suns excluded) to post their replies. Then
it would be "it"'s sloe discretion to choose the 3 funniest answers. The
funniest answerer then takes over for the next week. In case the funniest
answere does not or can not post a new word, then the second funniest answere
takes over after a grace period of 2 days.

You need not start a new conference for this. (In fact, I think 
there are some complicated procedures for starting a new conference.)
What you should do is start a new *item* in this. If you are using
'bbs' from a telnet session, at the "Ok:" prompt you can type "enter" to
enter a new item. If you are using 'backtalk', it is easier -- there
os a button named "enter".

Regarding the low number of responses, I think this is a conference in 
coma. Maybe your item will wake it up. All the best!

that the item will be entered there.
