I have been noticing a revolution of sorts; TV news programs are now soliciting comments from those who use the Internet. 2 examples come to mind, WXYZ and Dateline NBC now have Internet addresses and they do solicit comments and suggestions from thier viewers. Does this mean that the age of the "crackpot" is dead? or are these programs just manipulating the new segment of the audience? Dateline NBC's address is dateline@nbc.ge.com and Ch 7 's is wxyztv@aol.com (in case you had an urge to mail them)

One commentator on APR's Marketplace program gives an email address, and
at least one other thing on public radio urges you to talk to them by
joining some conference on The Well. I have no idea how this translates
to an email address. I honestly have wondered why, since they're constantly
urging you to write or call and presenting a selection of the results,
*all* the NPR news programs don't provide email addresses. I'd write &
tell them how silly they are, if they provided email addresses for
me to write to. 8-{)>
I have not yet sent mail to a radio or TV station or show, but I'm sure I will have the urge one of these days. If I remember right... APR's Marketplace (WUOM-91.7 FM 6:30 PM weekdays) can be reached in the radio conference on the Well. I don't know how we can get to the Well or how we can e-mail to them. NPR's Science Friday (WKAR-870 AM 2:00-4:00 Fridays) email to SciFri@aol.com and if you're on AOL, you can actually type comments to the show while it's on the air. I guess it's good if the 1-800 number for call-ins is busy or if you don't want your voice heard on the air. NPR's Talk of the Nation (WKAR 2-4 Mon-Thurs) email to totn@aol.com
The well can be found at well.com Send email to username@well.com Telnet to well.com and log in as guest or newuser
How do you get a username from a statement like "You can find us in the radio conference on The Well"?
I was just answering the posted question: "I don't know how we can get to the Well or how we can e-mail to them" But let me suggest that you now can telnet to the well and join their radio conference. Perhaps if you ask there?
(I thought joining cost $$$, so I hesitate.)
I tried telnetting to the well and logging in as guest. You can see what the well is about, but you can't read the radio conference without joining. It does cost money to join. $15/month + $2/hour. But they have an email address for getting help - support@well.com or support@well.sf.ca.us, perhaps if you asked them or asked postmaster@well.com you could get an email address without having to join.
Today's Freep has a big article on E-Mail and in reading it, I found a NEW address... Marc Gunther who happens to be a TV writer for the Freep uses The Well,as well as America On-Line and Compuserve... Addresses are: marcgu@aol.com marcg@well.sf.ca.us. and Compuserve 72662,2512. Does anyone know HOW to mail someone at Compuserve? What would be the Internet address for C-serve... I've had this comment for Heath Meriweather for a while.....;)
I know how. Compuser accounts are always nnnnn, nnnn so you have to change the comma to a period and add @compuserve.com to get a valid internet address. Try 72662.2512@compuserve.com
Thanks, Steve. Now, I can write fan letters to Rush Limbaugh ;) (Fat chance of THAT ever happening.)
