Facebook has been asking users to turn over the passwords to their external e-mail accounts in violation of fundamental security principles, and downloading users' contacts lists without permission in violation of basic principles of privacy and ethics. I've never been a big FB user, but this is the last straw. I'm quitting FB and strongly recommend everyone else to do likewise. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/apr/18/facebook-uploaded-email -contacts-of-15m-users-without-consent

I've never installed the FB app to a smartphone - always use the browser.
resp:1 Neither have I. Following up on my opening post, I've gathered alternative contacts for all my family and friends, deleted photos and other information, defriended everyone, and deactivated my Facebook account.
Good on ya'. I've been taking a pretty serious facebook diet lately. Feels good.
My FB posts are a small subsect of 'friends' where on Friday I post a youtube link to a song fitting my mood with 'TGIF' as the caption.
