I am testing out two DOS-based browsers, Arachne and Skipper (part of New Deal Office Suite). They work fine using three ISPs (MichComm, Freewwweb, and Worldshare). With a fourth ISP (The Internet Ramp, www.tir.com) I can dial and connect with both, but not access any websites. Arachen will access and download from its own websites only. Netscape 3/Win31 works fine with TIR and they have had no complaints from anyone else about incompatibility with browsers. Skipper usually crashes when I try to access a website and the favorites list got messed up to the point where even Worldshare cannot use it (I get some dialog box instead of Altavista). TIR suggested typing in the IP numbers instead of the names and adding their gateway address but that did not help. Any ideas what is going on, and how either the browsers or the ISP might be modified to fix it? Both DOS-based browsers are still sort of buggy.

I got them working by increasing files to 80 and using smart.drv.
