I had an interesting bit of online purchasing from Egghead. I used one of those bots that search out lowest prices for items, and found a price about 1/3 less than "retail" for digital camera memory cards, from Egghead - plus free shipping. The site did say they were out of stock but shipping would just be delayed. So I ordered a pair. Over the next three weeks I got three notices from Egghead that they may not be available, and offering me an opportunity to cancel the order as it would be cancelled anyway if the items were not available within 30 days. But I stood pat and, just before the time was up, I was informed they were shipped (and they came today). I am now wondering if the low price was a "bait and switch" tactic, where they were hoping I would have ordered the reduced price item along with other stuff, but then cancelled the order for the bait. What do you think? (That I'm being paranoid, probably.... 8^})
