Help wanted from India - names of data conversion companies

Can anyone help my email pal from Chennai with information on a company that
does data conversion? His request follows:

 From arasu@grex.cyberspace.org Wed Nov 4 10:20:52 1998
Subject: I need one Help from u.....!!!

 Hai keesan,

I need one help from u. I think u know data conversion. First I will tell u
clearly about my plan. Last month one my friend Introduced one guy his name
is Mr. Ramesh and he is owner of M/s. Meera Textiles and some other companies.
And his annual turnover is around 1000 milion in US dollar. Now he wants to
start a Data conversion company in India and he planned to get the order from
USA. My friend and myself and Mr. Ramesh discuss how to start the compnay
and finaly we came to the conculsion we had decide to get the compnay
names which is give the data conversion orders in USA. So he needs the
USA compnay address. So can u give me the company name, Contact Person,
Phone number and Email-Id, which is doing data conversion.

 ----
I have no idea what a data conversion company is or does, let alone how to
find one. Can anyone either suggest a few companies, or at least explain
what they are and where to look for them? Could arasu do some web
 browsing and find his own?

A good place to answer these questions is via a trip to the library.
You'll want to find one with a strong computer/engineering magazine
collection, and you'll probably want to consult with the librarians
 there.

Another, not as good, way to collect this information is via a web
search. This information may be more spotty because not all data
conversion companies will have good web pages, and the quality of
information on the web pages may differ greatly. A goodly number may
work on the "talk to us and we'll decide what you need and how much
 we'll charge" principle.

 From arasu@grex.cyberspace.org Thu Nov 5 12:25:11 1998

 Hai keesan,

Good morning. Today also heavy rain here.
(monsoon season, it has been heavy rain every day for a week or so)

Keesan:I will post your request for help on grex. Many people there know
a lot about computers and data conversion, which I do not understand.
Arasu:Thankx and when will I get the result (ie. compnay names?). And
data conversion means we will convert the dataas from paper format into
electric format. For example u r having Dallas magzine, we have receive
the dallas magzine and then key and then add HTML/SGML tags to them and
then we will send to customer. The customer will update in to the
 Internet.

 ----------
Does anyone personally know anybody at a data conversion company?
I am not an appropriate person to be handling this since I know little
 about computers or the Internet.
I will forward Marcus's suggestions to Arasu.

My e-mail pal from Chennai is looking for a US company that does data
conversion. I also posted this request in Agora. If anyone can help, please
email him directly with the info (arasu@cyberspace.org), he seems to think
I know more than I do. I would not recognize the needed info if I saw it.

I guess the person wanted to start a DATE conversion company. Somewhere down
the line, it has been misunderstood as DATA. Basically he wanted to start a
Y2K company. Better check it with your friend.
