Grex Ing Item 58: SeizING control of this conference
Entered by scott on Mon May 20 01:25:35 UTC 1996:

So what do we want to do with this conference? It's kinda dead, with the
exception of a couple items linked to the Health conference. Start linking
in items that fit the criteria? Do the borg conf thing like Accordions? Turn
it into the Scott Social conference?

That would have to the the Scott SocializING conference, or would it be the
ScottING conferencing.

#2 of 58 by carson on Mon Jun 10 17:21:59 1996:

another socializING conference might be neat. I don't know what's wrong with
keeping it an ING conference.

#3 of 58 by scott on Wed Jul 10 16:15:23 1996:

Turns out I'll be incredibly busy at work for the next month, so revitalizing
this conf. will have to wait. :(

#4 of 58 by lee on Tue Nov 26 03:24:58 1996:

the borg conf?

#5 of 58 by scott on Tue Nov 26 12:08:49 1996:

The Borg conference thing, where the FW (that's me!) starts linking in random
items from other conferences. Check out the Accordions Conference some time.

How about just readING the silly thing once in a while? Maybe even <gasp!>
respondING!

#7 of 58 by lee on Mon Dec 2 03:47:09 1996:

instead of just lurkING? :)

#8 of 58 by lee on Sat Dec 14 04:40:04 1996:

Maybe we could start a "What have you been doING today" item so every day
people could enter what they've done or something.

#9 of 58 by scott on Sat Dec 14 13:19:32 1996:

It's a thought...

#10 of 58 by lee on Sat Dec 14 16:14:32 1996:

(psst... you know scott, being the fw and all you could initiate the item and
all :)

#11 of 58 by scott on Sat Dec 14 20:11:03 1996:

(psst... you know lee, being a Grexer and all you could initiate the item and
all :)

#12 of 58 by lee on Sun Dec 15 04:55:40 1996:

(wonders if that's a hint :)
(takes it as such)

#13 of 58 by orinoco on Tue Dec 30 03:49:14 1997:

I suppose I'm the only one payING any attention to this conference by now...

#14 of 58 by rcurl on Tue Dec 30 06:51:24 1997:

I'm watchING....

#15 of 58 by scott on Tue Dec 30 12:02:12 1997:

Yes, there is still some life here...

#16 of 58 by lee on Tue Dec 30 21:32:55 1997:

I'm still passing by.

#17 of 58 by orinoco on Wed Dec 31 03:13:11 1997:

Wow...I'm impressed.

#18 of 58 by kentn on Wed Dec 31 20:09:06 1997:

I'm lurkING...

#19 of 58 by scott on Wed Dec 31 22:57:11 1997:

Wrong item, Kent. You want item 60 to make that announcement.

<scott demonstrates the "FW snarl" at this clueless newbie> ;)

#20 of 58 by snowth on Thu Jan 1 09:59:05 1998:

<snowth knows why dan's shown is face in the -ing conference.>

I'm planning on addING some activity myself here, soon. Watch, this place
could get pretting interestING soon...

#21 of 58 by orinoco on Fri Jan 2 16:26:18 1998:

And if people don't stop capitalizING the last three letters of words endING
in -ing, I think I'm going to scream...

#22 of 58 by rcurl on Fri Jan 2 18:13:29 1998:

I hear you screamING...

#23 of 58 by lee on Fri Jan 2 23:22:44 1998:

Were we doING anything wrong? ;)

#24 of 58 by scott on Sat Jan 3 01:52:44 1998:

No, but it is wasted keystrokes. And those larger letters take more
electrons, you know.

#25 of 58 by orinoco on Sat Jan 3 03:41:14 1998:

Not to mention all the innocent photons who were killed for the sake of your
capital letters.

#26 of 58 by snowth on Tue Jan 6 20:18:28 1998:

sorry. I was just being annoyING.

#27 of 58 by e4808mc on Thu Jan 8 03:48:46 1998:

I wonder how many others have this conf in their .cflistING

#28 of 58 by mcnally on Thu Jan 8 06:59:20 1998:

An ever-dwindlING number, one would suspect.. This conf is moribund..

#29 of 58 by rcurl on Thu Jan 8 08:49:30 1998:

Doesn't see to be moribund to me. It is, in fact, a metaconference, discussing
itself.

#30 of 58 by mcnally on Thu Jan 8 19:04:10 1998:

Well, let me know when the meta-dicussion gets around to revealing
the secret behind the ascii art in the conference banner.. I'm still
  mightily confused by those whatchamacallems..

#31 of 58 by rcurl on Thu Jan 8 19:17:28 1998:

Aren't they partially cloned cats?

#32 of 58 by mcnally on Fri Jan 9 06:44:22 1998:

Could be. I thought they were some sort of ambulatory three-eyed tulips..

#33 of 58 by orinoco on Sat Jan 10 03:27:04 1998:

So if we're talking about how it's a meta-discussion, is it a
meta-meta-discussion?
So, in other words, I'm...<deep breath>...Meta-meta-un-de-re-inging!

#34 of 58 by scott on Sat Jan 10 14:22:33 1998:

They are three-eyed, three-eared, three-legged, and three-tailed alien cats
from an Agora login screen several seasons ago.

They needed a home.

#35 of 58 by snowth on Mon Jan 12 04:15:06 1998:

No they really didn't. But that's okay, as long as they make you happy.

#36 of 58 by orinoco on Tue Jan 13 04:20:07 1998:

Oh, but they do!

#37 of 58 by keesan on Tue Feb 24 04:54:37 1998:

What is a .cflisting and what do you do with it?

#38 of 58 by rcurl on Tue Feb 24 05:14:41 1998:

Your .cflist will automatically take you through the list of cfs that
you write into it, as you enter n at the Ok: prompt.

#39 of 58 by remmers on Tue Feb 24 12:24:09 1998:

Type !change and pick menu option C to create one.
