     Oh, and how would a pern do that?  It seems !msg doesn't work here.
     Not what I'd call very user friendly.

Try !write or !talk instead.  I'll field any questions I can.

  How about mailing someone like me? or staff? or root? I will help in any
way I can, and if I cannot provide you with an answer I will direct you to
someone who can.

Or you could always post it in this conference.  That is what I always do
when I need help, and within a few hours I generally have more information
than I know what to do with.

And in this case, if you actually look at all the help you get when you
type   help   , you will see a command called "chat" mentioned, which
would be enough of a hint for some people to go on with.

one of the problems with the !msg thingie is that it permits too many
lines to be transmitted to someone else. i have some code that hasn't
been looked at recently, which also limits the number of lines which
can be sent.
