Grex Info Item 65: Help! "Mail folder format has been invalidated."

   Pine is telling me that my "mail folder format has been invalidated."  What
do I do?  I was using mail to refresh my memory so that I could answer an
other question in this conference, and I got a little impatient with it (six
users logged on) and hit ^C after it had taken a minute and a half to delete
a message.  It was after this that the problem started (it also keeps telling
me that I have mail.

That means that your mailfolder has been corrupted.  Usually, that
means that the "From_" line that's supposed to start each message
got removed from the first line.  To recreate it, just add a
line that reads

From scg Fri Aug 13 21:55:00 1993

to the beginning of your mailfile.  Make sure it's the *first*
line.
