My communications software will emulate the following:TTY; ANSI; VT100; VT52. Which is the best terminal of the above for use on GREX?

VT100.
I use both VT 52 and VT100. I don't know the difference between them but I do OK.
A VT52 is mostly a subset of a VT100. The VT100 has more features, including things like insert/delete line that help a lot at low baud rates.
Technical note: VT100 doesn't have insert/delete line; the vi editor (and probably other editors too) fake it by using the VT100 scrolling region feature.
