What do I need to do to get a UUCP mail feed from grex? I have uupc,
and it is configured. What sorts of things do I need to fill out to get
a account? I know I need some map info, etc... The M-Net people don't
seem to be too quick on this sort of thing, so I thought I would ask the
grex people.

Please send me mail on this, as I don't log into grex much, and my .forward sends it to m-net where I get on several times a day.
I've sent mail to Jared, telling him how to go about this. For others
who may be interested, here is my message:
There isn't much of anything to fill out, at least for Grex. Local
practices vary widely. For Grex, you just have to send a message
to the UUCP administrator (right now, me) saying that you want
a UUCP account and stating your machine name. I'll reply with
the account name and password to use; once the link has been verified,
updated map entries can be submitted. The only real rule is that,
since Grex bounces queued jobs after 7 days, you need to poll at
least that often to avoid losing jobs. Filling up the spool directory
by transferring massive jobs is also frowned upon.

I understand that UUPC will transfer mail to a personal computer. Do you need other software to actually read the mail?
I think UUPC comes with a mail-reading program.
It does come with a mail reading program. It's sorta messed up, but it's okay. If you actually want a demo of it, I guess you can ask me, and I'll show you how it all works. I am trying to get an account on netmeg to do any massive jobs that I require. I got an account as result of an auction on M-Net. Now, I just need to get it set up.
Thanks for the offer, Jared. I'll ftp it from somewhere, and play around with it. If I need help, I'll holler.
okay.
Hasn't been many new posts here... Who's the UUCP liason right now for Grex? I would like just a regular, run of the mill email (no newgroup) feed for me and a friend a few friends
I may be able to provide you with this after the weekend.. I'm setting up my new machine with linux right as I speak, so I'll be able to get you an idea of how stuff will be going.
This response has been erased.
I'm having problems with the linux getty.. as soon as that is resolved, and my phone line is added, I will be able to provide uucp for people who want it.
