I'm trying to read Usenet through Pine. How do I do this? It seems I need to enter a server name or something into something or the other. Help is appreciated...

Hi there! Wow, life in this conference, amazing... Unfortunately, this cf is more for academic questions than for technical ones. I don't think there *is* any way to read usenet newsgroups on Grex, through Pine or in any other way. If you want to see what has been said about it, try !help news or !help rn to see what response you get. Good luck.
Okay. Thanks. Byebye.

Wow! I didn't know that. Read but not reply? I thought there used to be specific help commands which got you the relevant commands. Changed the proceedure? Things seem to be getting easier, I guess. Thanks.
Hey, I just wanted read stuff, I don't mind if I'm unable to post anything. Thanks for the address.

what's the difference between the man page and the help file? I thought that !help X got you to the manual page for X.

Valerie, I wish you were getting paid for the immense amount of remarkably valuable work you've done. Thanks again.

Is it possible to use pine to get newsgroups, if so how do you provide a username and password for the server to allow you to connect. I'm still trying, but not having much luck. Thanks.
try using yer local university as a server. Netscape already
has support for news, why would they tie up a local BBS for that?

I've heard lots of bad things about dejanews about problems propogating into them.. :/ Perhaps that's fixed now.

Ah. A biiiiig time sink...<g>
Dejanews is avail. without typing anything on grex. well, just lynx anyway. The pointer is on the internet page, hot picks section. It's a new link (thanks srw), along with cnn headline news, yahoo, mel, and altavista. Read away!
