I was wondering if anyone knows how to setup a signature file through elm? I have tryed to pute a .signature file in the main dir and also in .elm however nothing seems to be working. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks- -=Michael=-

Edit your .elm/elmrc file. (I think you should have such a file, but if you don't, go into elm, get to the options screen, & do a save. Then you will.) In .elm/elmrc, there are lines setting a remote signature and a local signature (with comments preceding them). These lines are initially set pointing to nothing and commented out with "#" characters at the beginning of the lines. Try changing them to say: localsignature = $HOME/.elm/.signature or remotesignature = $HOME/.elm/.signature (since you've put the .signature you want in your .elm dir). You can set these to point to any filenames you want (for which you have read access), giving a full path. The file you give for the localsignature will be appended to messages you send that elm thinks are here; the remotesignature to messages elm thinks are going elsewhere. This may not always reflect reality; some users here on Grex routinely get my remote .sig. (You may, of course, use the same file for both.)
Thanks, I'll see if that works... I don't have a .signature option in my options.
That's right - the options screen has a very, very, very limited selection of the options actually stored in the elmrc configuration file. Elm has ***lots*** of options you can set up, some of which can produce unintended side effects.
