Is there a way to combine the commands "join" and "read" ?

Thanks Dave & Valerie.  You answered my question AND the one I was going
to ask next.

You can still do
next;read
(or
n;r
) to combine it into one command, if you wish.  The skipping of conferences
with no activity makes a .cflist a *big* help.
