What's the right way to respond to a talk request, when one is in menu?

Does that mean a non-member can't respond to a talk request even from another person on grex? I knew that was true through the link.
Re 4 - If I remember correctly, talk disables text from the standard source, including write and chat messages. I've tried writing to people who were talking me, and they never saw it.

Will we be able to re-enable local talk for everyone, regardless of membership status? That seems an irrelevant distinction between members and nonmembers - that talk will work or not.

Since the members have voted to permit talk protocol to be totally open, it's just a matter of getting the kernel patches modified. It's those pesky kernel patches that break talk today, so this change will fix it. If the staff can get the corner turned on a few of the tough problems facing them at this moment, like the disk problem, ram problem, and news problem, then this'll probably get done soon afterwards.

That seems to be the most sensible feature to have.
So was it done? I.e. does talk work for non-members now?

I know that there may be security problems, but is there a way we non-staffers can see the current staff to-do list?
Oh, okay. No pressure here . . . .

That's an interesting idea, popcorn. I think I'll just do that.
Ah, I just found this again. I forgot what I promised I'd enter so, after many moons of thinking I'd never be able to figure out where I promised to do this, I simply did a "read since". Worked marvelously. I'm off to Co-op!
