Grex Inferno Item 6: Dreams
Entered by eeyore on Thu Feb 14 18:44:43 UTC 2002:

Recently I started keeping a journal of my dreams, mainly because I really
don't remember much of them 5 minutes after I wake up, other than to
remember that they were really really strange. I've found that when I write
them down, as I go, I remember more details, and that alot of times they
mirror what's going on in my life or in my thoughts. In discussing this one
day with somebody, he suggested that I ought to do a Valerie, and write them
down in here.

I thought about it, and decided that it could be a hell of a lot of fun :)
Since these silly things entertain me so much, I figure I'll entertain you
guys too.

I vote yes. :)

Greg thought that i should put them in the cflirt cf. I thought that maybe
I'd just hide them here :)

Before Christmas, I started writing them down. I gave up during Christmas,
due to working 70-80 hours a week, and then never got back to it. I got my
book and pencil all set up by my bed now, though, so I can start again
tomorrow morning! :)

Although it does kind of occure to me that I don't remember having any
lately...which for me is fairly odd.

I remember Snow. I woke up, it was Nikki's birthday (not in September-now)
and there were a few inches of snow on the ground.

*Nikki & I had had a conversation on 12-6 about how it was supposed to snow
today*

*btw, it didn't snow*.

I occures to me to mention that I tend to add notes to the end about what's
actually going on, or how it might relate. Those are in the *.

I had a black schnauzer, a female, who was pregnant. I didn't know it until
right before she gave birth. Sylvia spent the night, dog had the puppies on
my bed...but they basically erupted from her stomach and then moved to her
back. She then walked around the house with the pink newborn puppies
sticking out of her back....about 20 of them!

*I know there was more.....*

I felt like I was watching a movie trailer, about a prince and true love,
and there was a woman who got covered with rats and eaten alive instantly
and it was Italian Ren (*Thank you Sarah!*) I think I saw the "trailer"
three or four times. The last time, Cookie Monster was involved somewho,
and the group scene, which before had a woman running through a crowd,
looking for her daughter, (the princess eventually, I think), the woman was
Cookie Monster's mother. And there was a scene of a girl in white dress
with silver wings. Afterwardds, I started interviewing the prince, but
didn't get very far, as my alarm went off. *I woke up being very irritated
by the intreuption!!!*

<giggles> Very nice. An interesting glimpse into the Mind of Meg. :)

#8 of 33 by eeyore on Tue Feb 19 05:30:12 2002:

Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?

#9 of 33 by mooncat on Tue Feb 19 17:02:58 2002:

I'm not sure yet...

#10 of 33 by clees on Mon Mar 4 23:43:10 2002:

So, we are not supposed to submit our own dreams, but just read Meg's
and wonder..

#11 of 33 by eeyore on Fri Mar 15 03:47:50 2002:

Please do submit dreams of your own....it occured to me later that I was
sounding really really pompous. And besides, it's fun to compare :)

Ah.
In 2001 I dreamt I was on for a job interview at another company.
As they told I was supposed to wait and could have lunch while doing so
in their company restaurant. As I was there I noticed my boss (the
overall general manager of all library departments of Free University)
He informed me this company had invited him to fill in gaps according
to my career path and whether I was suitable or not.
We agree to have lunch together.
He ordered a bowl of oatmeal porridge. As watched him eat his porridge
the stuff dribbled down his chin and onto his suit.

Conclusion: I have got no respect for this man. (which is true)
What's yours?

(I have got a couple of vivid dreams)

I've found that if I don't write them down, I don't remember them for crap.
With the exception of one or two.

Anney has a few good ones too. :)

Last night I had the weirdest dream:
I dreamt I was attending a Tina Turner rock concert with a non descript
friend (why? TT doesn't move me at all).
At some point TT got fed up with our jesting and making remarks. She
flashed us.
She asked: "You haven't seen it, have you?"
We replied with "Yes we have. You are a man."
She realized she had made terrible mistake and begged us not to reveal
her hidden secret. At that point I realised in my dream she had flashed
us without wearing underwear.

Why did I dream this?
What does it mean?
Why is TT really a man?

The other night I remember running through the most beautiful glade that I
had ever seen, and I was running just for the love of running./ It was
really really foggy, but the fog was just above my head, so it was
completely clear where I was running.

My last dream, I was trying to teach a snake as if it were a child...

#17 of 33 by jaklumen on Thu Jun 12 05:03:55 2003:

My dreams aren't bizarre per se but they are rather odd when I can
remember them.

#18 of 33 by cyberpnk on Mon Jun 16 21:59:00 2003:

The problem with my dreams lately is that they've been getting so real,
it's as if I were awake.....

#19 of 33 by vidar on Wed Sep 3 12:47:55 2003:

I've had that happen. Lately I've been having a lot of bizzare dreams,
and as I try to remember them later the following day, the events keep
mutating.

#20 of 33 by cmcgee on Wed Sep 3 15:05:36 2003:

is it the dream or your life that is mutating?

#21 of 33 by jaklumen on Thu Sep 4 00:53:08 2003:

I had an odd dream recently that had Mr. T in a starring lead romantic
role. Can't remember who the love interest was, was some pretty young
thing in the typical Hollywood formula of older guy, younger woman.

#22 of 33 by cyberpnk on Sat Sep 6 19:14:23 2003:

And my dreams are getting so sharp, that I can pick up a piece of paper
and read fine print. Oh, and btw, does anyone know where I can find a
good dream interpreter?

#23 of 33 by bhelliom on Mon Oct 20 16:52:13 2003:

My most recent vivid dream was about shoe shopping. Go figure...

#24 of 33 by jaklumen on Mon Oct 20 23:30:21 2003:

The ones I can remember lately, the last two, anyway, involved retail
sales. The last one was kinda odd... instead of experiencing the
dream, it was like I was watching others and myself. I watched
someone destroy merchandise in a store... in some Hollywood romance
sort of way, and then I was giving some sort of pep talk (and I was
watching myself give it) as a store manager. Talking about loss
prevention, customer service, stuff like that.

Re #20: The details of the dream when I try to remember it later in the
day.

Lately my most vivid dreams have been rife with Jewish symbology. One
I remember distinctly, I was apparently in a Hebrew Boys Choir or
something . . . definately wearing a robe and a yarmulke . . . running
from something. And as it was a dream, I could actually read Hebrew.

#26 of 33 by cmcgee on Thu Oct 30 16:09:50 2003:

Nice! Can you see the text when you're awake and still read it?

#27 of 33 by vidar on Fri Oct 31 01:53:14 2003:

No, because I don't have any books written in Hebrew around the house.
I did, however, write down the details of that dream in a dream journal
I occassionally keep. Occasionally being when I can actually find it
and have had a dream like that.

In the dream it was more like I saw the text, then immediately saw the
translation.

#28 of 33 by vidar on Sat Nov 15 15:40:21 2003:

This time, it's not a dream, and may even sound like the setup to a bad
joke.

On Wednesday, two rabbis and their advocate walk into the apartment
complex I'm temping at. So, after finally finding out I could have
someone *other* than the manager show them the apartments, they take a
walk through the horrid community - and like it. After coming back in
and talking to me for a while, they leave and then their advocate calls
to speak with the manager.

The manager and I have consistantly joked that it would be easier to
move an angel into an apartment in Hell than it would be to move decent
humans into the apartment complex.

(Actually, I'm only sure one of the men was a rabbi - I'm not exactly
up on my monotheistic heirarchies.)

Topping that off, those dreams that I remember do still seem to be full
of Jewish symbolism. If Joanna's trying to tell me something, I still
don't get it.

#29 of 33 by vidar on Tue Dec 30 21:44:37 2003:

More Joanna-based dreams. This one just last night. It's clear she's
trying to tell me something now, but I *still* don't get it.

#30 of 33 by jaklumen on Fri Jan 2 07:30:35 2004:

I seem to dream more lucidly when I oversleep-- not sure why, but I
tend to forget them otherwise.

#31 of 33 by vidar on Fri Jan 2 15:58:44 2004:

I think I do the same. Then again, I don't pay enough attention to how
I sleep when to say for sure.

#32 of 33 by twenex on Sun Mar 14 00:22:42 2004:

I had a dream last night full of "margaritas" - doughy things people have for
breakfast in Spain.

#33 of 33 by jaklumen on Mon Mar 15 08:16:52 2004:

How are they different from the alcoholic drinks again? I'm so
confused. I've never heard of them, but then I suppose I've heard more
of Latin American cuisine.
