Grex Inbetween Item 9: Off to see the Vampires!!!
Entered by gerund on Sat Nov 12 14:24:29 UTC 1994:

Ok, gerundy is very much wanting to go to see Interview With The Vampire.
Gerundy is not wanting to go alone, however, and while he was pondering
the concept a most awesome thought came to him. Perhaps he could convince
some inbetweeners to get together and go to see it as a group. It would
be a peachy keen thing to do, and if tom cruise really blew the role we could
all boo him together. :)
i don't have any idea what people's schedules look like, so i thought i'd
leave this item open for people to enter some suggestions as to when this
might take place. I'd imagine it should take place in Ann Arbor, although
when and at what theatre is open for discussion. Hopefully we could do
this soon, and perhaps it might be an ok thing to do on a sunday
afternon/evening as part of a sorta after tweening. The reason I suggest
a sunday is because sunday is the only day of the week i know for sure I
won't be working on. if anyone would need a ride, i have room available
for three. let us discuss, and i will keep track of tentative ideas.

I WANNA GO!!!!!!!!!!! WANNA GO!!!!! How about tomorrow???

#2 of 119 by gerund on Sun Nov 13 02:09:10 1994:

I can do this tomorrow, but perhaps for others we should plan on something in
advance. Say maybe at least a week from now. The only thing is, judging by the
popular response to the movie I imagine most people will see it this week. If
anyone wants to go tomorrow I can go though.

#3 of 119 by gerund on Sun Nov 13 14:31:43 1994:

Well, I'll do my best to see if I can force, er... TALk, yeah TALk some
of the walkers into doing this today.

#4 of 119 by anne on Sun Nov 13 17:28:27 1994:

Well, I can't go on the walk... I have a paper due tomorrow, so if I do
one (walk or movie) I can't do the other. And I REALLY want to see the movie,
but I suppose I can wait till next week. When I WILL be at the walk, and
most likely I will be bringing two people with me.
Call me if people are going to the movie today...

#5 of 119 by gerund on Sun Nov 13 20:04:20 1994:

Well, I sorta wanted to go today, because I CAN'T wait. It does seem that I
will have to, but I'm thinking that maybe I will just go tonight anyhow. Then
I can watch everyone else's reaction to the movie, knowing what will be coming.
 :)

#6 of 119 by anne on Sun Nov 13 23:44:04 1994:

What fun is that?? You might spoil it for the rest of us!!! I hate that!
If you say ONE little bitty thing that happens I will get very annoyed!!!!!!

I wanna go!! )still( Next Sunday after the walk? At a matinee type time??

#7 of 119 by gerund on Mon Nov 14 07:14:43 1994:

Well, I did go.
I won't tell you anything, because this movie is easily my favourite ever.
I will tell you it kinda messed with my mind a bit at parts, but that's all I'm
going to really say. It really wasn't what I expected... meaning it went beyond
expectations. And, hopefully you won't think this is giving anything away,
but...

It was faithful enough to the book for me
Tom Cruise pulled the part off

Spoil it? I doubt it.
Hopefully you'll like it too.

#8 of 119 by gerund on Mon Nov 14 07:21:22 1994:

I still want to see if some people will see this and decide to go next Sunday.
I would definitely take any opportunity to see it again.
I'm still not sure it was good that I went alone.

So next Sunday is definite, more or less, and hopefully I can drag some others
out too.

#9 of 119 by eeyore on Tue Nov 15 16:42:49 1994:

well, why nothave it be the aftertweening???

#10 of 119 by doorknob on Tue Nov 15 18:02:45 1994:

I did see it. It was great beyond anything I had hoped.
Tom Cruse definately pulled it off. I would see it again, but I'm
seeing it with a friend of mine Friday for his B-day.
Okay Meg, I see it three times...She likes to type over
my shoulder.

i was not just now!!!!
Yes you were!
 no i wasn't!
Argh!

#11 of 119 by eeyore on Tue Nov 15 18:04:45 1994:

i just love doing that to him!
/pam
i'm dragging him along wheter he likes it or not. it will be good for
him. hmmmm...maybe we should get mao and psychiatrist going....

#12 of 119 by anne on Tue Nov 15 18:13:37 1994:

Only AFTER the movie!! I am firm on this point!

#13 of 119 by eeyore on Tue Nov 15 18:29:23 1994:

o.k. :P)

#14 of 119 by gerund on Tue Nov 15 23:05:35 1994:

I really COULD say something here, but I'm not gonna.

Ok, this is the deal:

Sunday the 20th those who want to can go to the unofficial aftertweening
to see the acclaimed "Interview With The Vampire".
I have room for three people if a ride is a problem. Possibly four.

#15 of 119 by anne on Wed Nov 16 01:46:42 1994:

Well, we need to come up with a time, like I said, a matinee would be
for the best!

#16 of 119 by gerund on Wed Nov 16 10:18:01 1994:

In terms of an aftertweening, the movie would have to most likely begin after
three. The walk lasts usually at LEAST an hour, and you'd have to count
travel time to the theatre. Also, I thought rated R movies weren't usually
shown until evening. I'm probably being an old prude though. I'm sure it's
showing. :)

#17 of 119 by eeyore on Wed Nov 16 13:26:43 1994:

i'm sure that it is showinig also....:)

#18 of 119 by spyder on Wed Nov 16 16:26:34 1994:

I think it is showing too....

I just had to put my two cents in .......
I hope you like the movie ..maybe I'll get to see it ver the Hoildays... in
FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#19 of 119 by scg on Wed Nov 16 20:30:02 1994:

Could I suggest maybe doing it sometime after four, like maybe having the
aftertweening include eating first to kill time, or something. Then I
could go to it.

#20 of 119 by gerund on Wed Nov 16 23:38:03 1994:

This is perfectly fine with Gerund.

Funny people... go ahead and make fun of a Gerund who didn't think to be
specific enough for your tastes.

#21 of 119 by eeyore on Thu Nov 17 13:08:56 1994:

well, how about a better idea...why not see what times it's showing, and
then plan around that?

#22 of 119 by anne on Thu Nov 17 18:20:52 1994:

I can't really afford an evening show, and matinees are usually cheaper!
Can't we cut the walk short? If the walk starts at 1:30, we finish at
2:30, we can still make it to a 3:00pm show! We can eat AFTER the movie,
if anyone is hungry. Besides I can't take too much time away from work,
I have a term paper due Tuesday...

Sorry to be a pain about this....

#23 of 119 by eeyore on Thu Nov 17 18:25:46 1994:

why not find out the tiems of the movies FIRST!!!!

and skip the walk this weekend?

#24 of 119 by gerund on Thu Nov 17 19:03:04 1994:

BLASPHEMY..... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I suppose bobbina could handle it on her own for one week maybe. MAYBE.

Anne, honey, read the conference login file, huh? the walks start at 1 PM
not 1:30. <big grin>

#25 of 119 by anne on Thu Nov 17 23:04:11 1994:

Since when???? <sigh> Fine GO change the time on me!! SEE if I care!!!!!

<anne pouts>

#26 of 119 by carson on Fri Nov 18 00:27:09 1994:

anne, you were late LAST time because you thought it was at 1:30. geez.
 :) :) :)

#27 of 119 by gerund on Fri Nov 18 00:36:05 1994:

It's ok anne. Everything is going to be just fine. just fine.

Now where are those men in the white coats?

<Gerund grins a very big grin>

#28 of 119 by eeyore on Fri Nov 18 15:56:13 1994:

be nice to anney, gerundy, or i'll beat you up!

#29 of 119 by dang on Fri Nov 18 18:26:44 1994:

Dammit! It's FRIDAY and noone has said when or where!

Okay, here goes.
Briarwood: 1:40, and 4:25

Showcase:1:10, 2:10, 3:20, and 4:45.

We now have the times. Someone decide.

#30 of 119 by scg on Fri Nov 18 20:30:34 1994:

I'll vote for one of the ones after 4.

#31 of 119 by gerund on Fri Nov 18 21:52:34 1994:

Ok. Gerundy is making an executive decision here.

It WILL be Sunday.
It will be either the 3:20, 4:25 ro 4:45 showing.
We will decide which at the walk.
Show up at the walk and you won't be confuzzled.
Because Steve hopes for an after 4 showing I will vote for the same.
So far... it appears to me that the following individuals are
definite maybes for the movie:

Gerund
Scg
Anne
Eeyore
Dang
I will do whatever I can to inform any of the above who aren't at the walk of
the final definite decision made AT the walk. I will also, as stated before,
provide a ride if you need one. So the above people will get a say.
Did this make sense... I've never done the executive thing before.

Oh btw... BEAT ME UP???
Doncha think I've been through enough lately? Oh... well, I WAS teasing
Anne. I mean she NEVER teases me, so I suppose... ah... nevermind.
Gerundy is just not having a happy pumpkin toy NBB is all. He'll cheer up
for you on Sunday.

#32 of 119 by anne on Fri Nov 18 22:46:28 1994:

Well, Addittions to the list:
        Ben (anne's cousin)
        joker
        jshafer
        Craig (joker's and jshafer's friend)
        Anna (dito above)
dum (that's his login on grex, can't remember his real name)

I vote for the 3:20 show... Although, directions to Showcase would be
good, cause I don't know how to get there.

#33 of 119 by anne on Fri Nov 18 22:50:00 1994:

Oh, and for some reason it has firmly been ingrained in my mind that
the walk is at 1:30, cause that's what carson said last time when the walk
was at 4:00- (er, the last time the walk was at four...) I will endeavor
to remember that it is one pm, not one thirty pm...

#34 of 119 by gerund on Fri Nov 18 23:45:09 1994:

A crowd.
wonderful... oh well...
throw the chips and see where they land. :)
I like crowds. Really.

#35 of 119 by carson on Sat Nov 19 01:17:16 1994:

wow. I *did* say the walk would be at 1:30 the last time it waas at 4.
we went all the way to 1 to squeeze more daylight out of the day. Hope
that clears things up!

#36 of 119 by scg on Sat Nov 19 04:30:51 1994:

I really hope you don't do it before four, since I have a meeting that
usually goes until about then. When you decide, please leave a message on
my answering machine, or brother, or whatever aparatus answers the phone,
telling me when and where. The number is 769-8213.

#37 of 119 by carson on Sat Nov 19 10:57:12 1994:

ooh! Steve! picking up the dates! ;)

#38 of 119 by anne on Sat Nov 19 19:59:40 1994:

I suppose we could do the 4:20 showing.. provided it is matinee... oh dear,
Ithink I should get some money... brb!!!

#39 of 119 by gerund on Sat Nov 19 22:29:32 1994:

Well darn, we don't KNOW it's a matinee now, DO we?
Well, ok then... we're betting on the 4:20pm showing for now.
I guess I'll hacvk out details when I show up for the walk.
