This is the item to enter all those little things that make you realize you're still young, although you're in the in-between stage of life.

An adult mentioned some trend in his life "over the past ten years". Well gee, the past ten years _were_ my life, more or less.
(I have a running joke with my best friend, who's nine months older than I am. for three months out of the year, we have the same age. I used to say that, whenever he had one year up, that I was "young" and he was "ancient." during the three months that we had the same age, we were both "old.") (I remember once when we were in an elevator on EMU's campus, and two underclassmen wandered on. I asked him jokingly, "how come you're older than I am?" he replied matter-of-factly, "because Mom had me first." knowing that these underclassmen not only overheard this, but also pribly noticed that my best friend and I look *nothing* alike, I found it difficult to wait until we got off the elevator to burst out in laughter imagining the look on the underclassmen's faces.) (my best friend has since married, so I now say that he's "ancient" and I'm "old," no matter the age. not being married reminds me that I'm still young and have a lot to look forward to.)
I talked to a friend this morning, whose brother got married earlier this month. I went to high school with both of them, the one who got married is a year older than me, the other one a year younger. How strange it was to hear my friend talk about "his brother's *wife*" He seems so much older now that he's married and the rest of us aren't yet.
