Entered by canis on Fri Aug 18 15:43:14 UTC 1995:

Anyone interested in see Mortal Kombat, the movie? It looks interesting as
far as special effects go, but I have no idea what it is about, 'cept for
the basic mortal kombat game plot...

It looks semi-interesting.... Something about people from Earth
getting kidnapped... That's about all I know...

Well as it turns out it is just the game put into movie format (or so I have
heard) that it is a competion of several fighters, to be the best... or evil
will win... But the effects still look cool... and that merits a look...
perhaps I'll get a group togther when it opens at the fox...

I cannot imagine they could have found a plot to stick on to mortal kombat
i mean how much of a plot is a tournament to kill each other? :)

Check, the movie listings... how many action movies have been made about a
tournament, where people keep trying to kill one another, Bloodsport with
Jean-Claudde Van Damm comes to mind (as well as a few of his other movies)
Best of the Best (both 1 and 2), and quite a few others, needless to say
the plot isn't new, but the effects look cool...
