Grex Inbetween Item 29: Should we restart the InBetween walks?
Entered by scg on Thu Aug 3 05:33:14 UTC 1995:

Is anybody interested in getting the InBetween walks started again? For those
of you who weren't around last summer, the InBetween walks consisted of a
group of InBetweeners getting together every Sunday afternoon and walking in
the Arb. Afterward we usually went to an AfterTweening, usually either at
some food place on South U., or at Expurgated and Scribbled.

Sounds great! (too bad I live in Columbus, Ohio :( )

#2 of 36 by eeyore on Sat Aug 5 01:55:48 1995:

i have a feeling that expurgated and scribbled wiil not be an option anymore...
i have a feeling that carson wouldn't like it if we just showed up! :)

as for the walks, i'm all for it....:)

#3 of 36 by anne on Sat Aug 5 05:22:10 1995:

could be fun... :)

#4 of 36 by rlawson on Mon Aug 7 07:24:50 1995:

I could *walk* to Ann Arbor... if someone would be willing to drive me home?!?
Just kidding. I am trying to recruit some more members to this conference.
It isn't easy though (as I'm sure you know already). I'll keep trying. :}

re 2:
        Carson doesn't live at <expurgated and scribbled> anymore. I don't
think the new residents would be very likely to be too receptive to us,
though.

How would next Sunday be for this year's first InBetween walk? I think I'll
be in town, and bobbina said she'd be there.

#6 of 36 by eeyore on Tue Aug 8 14:29:26 1995:

well, is it still going to be at the same time? we really ought to decide
on little things like that...

#7 of 36 by scg on Wed Aug 9 02:32:21 1995:

I thought it might make sense to decide on a day before deciding on a time.
I get the feeling that there's no time on Sunday that Meg and I are both going
to be happy with :( but doing it on Saturday doesn't seem like a good thing,
considering that other walk that takes place then.

#8 of 36 by eeyore on Wed Aug 9 14:21:52 1995:

i agree...i think that sunday is gonna have to be it...unless
we want to make it a weekeday eve...but i can't garuntee anything
with work, 'specially if i become fulltime...

#9 of 36 by anne on Wed Aug 9 15:50:48 1995:

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it (what elese is new ;) ) I'm
moving back to Midland Sat, I'll be back Sept 1 or so. :)

#10 of 36 by scg on Thu Aug 10 04:30:13 1995:

How would 4:00 on Sunday be, since that's what we did last summer?

#11 of 36 by eeyore on Thu Aug 10 14:11:12 1995:

what ever sounds fine...i can garuntee that i will not be there, as i start
wrok on sundays at 3

#12 of 36 by scg on Sat Aug 12 03:13:54 1995:

Is anybody else besides me able to go then? I can walk by myself without
scheduling it...

#13 of 36 by scg on Sun Aug 13 04:04:46 1995:

Carson and I may be walking tomorrow, depending on whether Carson is available
then or not. I'll also walk if anybody else says they're going.

Directions:
We meet at the Peony Garden entrance to the Arb, on Washington Heights,
which is just off Observatory. The walk is at 4:00.

#14 of 36 by canis on Thu Aug 17 06:25:53 1995:

Okay, so when is the next one?

#15 of 36 by scg on Sat Aug 19 16:18:30 1995:

Tomorrow at 4, if anybody wants to come.

#16 of 36 by canis on Sun Aug 20 16:59:28 1995:

okay I'll try to be there...

#17 of 36 by scg on Sun Aug 20 19:51:57 1995:

Great. I'm on my way.

#18 of 36 by scg on Sun Aug 20 23:20:20 1995:

I showed up around 4:15 and found bobbina, but not canis. Bobbina said she'd
only been there for a minute, so I don't know if canis had been there earlier
and given up on us or not. Bobbina and I walked for a little bit, but we
didn't stay out very long, since bobbina had to be somewhere else. I think
it was something like exchanging a shirt for one that was a very slightly
lighter color or something like that....

#19 of 36 by blakrose on Wed Aug 23 00:44:55 1995:

Walking around the Arb is not that fun (speaking from some limited experience)

#20 of 36 by anne on Wed Aug 23 16:11:23 1995:

Well... I like the Arb... it's one of my favourite places in A2

#21 of 36 by canis on Wed Aug 23 18:11:40 1995:

It kinda makes you forget that you are accually in a city.. well except for
the part where you can see the buildings but otherwise...

#22 of 36 by abchan on Thu Oct 5 00:39:08 1995:

Yeah the Arb's really nice.... you can just walk around and forget
about the things you're supposed to be doing in your life :)

#23 of 36 by eeyore on Thu Oct 5 15:34:14 1995:

i think that's the wholde point of it! :)

#24 of 36 by abchan on Fri Oct 6 00:44:13 1995:

Oh. Yeah. Yeah..... :)
(anyone get that reference?)

#25 of 36 by carson on Thu May 14 17:09:47 1998:

(I'm planning to begin the InBetween walks again in June, for at least
the duration of the summer.)

#26 of 36 by scott on Thu May 14 21:01:35 1998:

I'm somewhat interested; I pretty much stopped going to Grexwalks on Saturdays
when I got into karate (and had a conflicting karate class).

#27 of 36 by abchan on Fri May 15 23:51:40 1998:

Just curious - when and where would they be? (Not that I should be a big
consideration in determining that as I wouldn't be able to go on a regular
basis, seeing I live a few hundred miles from A^2)

#28 of 36 by eskarina on Mon May 18 03:16:16 1998:

I would very much go should I not be working!

#29 of 36 by orinoco on Tue May 19 01:55:35 1998:

Sure, I'll walk. when? and whence and whither? and also whom?

<giggles hyterically>

#30 of 36 by carson on Fri May 22 17:59:15 1998:

(I'm thinking Sundays. I don't want to conflict with the regular
walk on Saturdays. I'm also thinking afternoons, since younger
people like to sleep in. it's all open to suggestion, though.)

#31 of 36 by abchan on Sat May 23 00:48:53 1998:

Younger people?
<abchan feels suddenly old>

#32 of 36 by orinoco on Sat May 23 03:15:34 1998:

WEll, Sundays I'm busy until noon-ish at the earliest, but I could squirm out
of that I suppose. And afternoons are pretty open usually.

#33 of 36 by eskarina on Sat May 23 06:58:03 1998:

I would prefer earlier to later... but I'm not going to throw a hissyfit about
what you end up arranging.

#34 of 36 by roadtrip on Thu Jul 30 18:21:43 1998:

well, if the concept is still alive, I'm interested.

#35 of 36 by eskarina on Mon Aug 3 03:58:57 1998:

hellooooo out there???

#36 of 36 by orinoco on Tue Aug 11 03:14:27 1998:
