Entered by bubu on Fri Dec 1 21:14:45 UTC 1995:

Well it is Christmas time again fellas, and lovely ladies who happen to join
us. Now I know that every person doesnt celebrate Christmas. I also know
that alot of people still exchange gifts at this time of the year. So my
question is what are you buying your better-half for the Holidays. I dont
know yet so please HELP!!!!

I resent the "better-half" comment. ;-)

Not only that, but since my better half reads this conference,
I ain't a-gonna respond to this item!
But like Dan, I welcome suggestions... :)

So John who would you welcome suggestions from.....Mary?

This year, we have agreed not to exchange presents because we have spent too
much the past two months (celebrating our 39th anniversary with a trip to NYC
and stuff). But, if i could, I would buy him a treadmill. I would like him
to buy me a treadmill, also. I think my favorite present from my S.O. would
be a day away. . . A day, completely planned by him from breakfast through
late evening, where he would take care of meals and pick special places for
us to go alone. It could be to the hottub place and then a romantic dinner
out and then a movie or any combination of stuff.

Hey, that sounds nice, Audrey... the day away.
Two treadmills seems odd, though... :)
For me, it's better two-thirds... we already have something for one,
but I haven't a clue what to get Valerie yet. :(
I'll figure it out. I hope. :)

I did that for my wife on our 7th anniversary Audrey. Our day ended up with
us back at our house where I prepared a lobster and shrimp feast for two....
Let me just say it was an awesome day....Most of our money these days though
goes to our kids....We get the greastest fun out of buying gifts for them and
for other friends of ours especially when they are expecting nothing...It kind
of brings the whole spirit of the Holiday into focus.

I could tell there ws somthing I liked about you, Dan.
Paul, I agree two treadmills would be silly, not to say crowde sine we already
have a ski machine, rowing machine, stationary bike, weights and who knows
what else crowdingup our family room ( in place of the baby grand, Jerry
talked me into selling. .before he told me what he was planning to replace
it with.)
Anyway, more presents to consider. ..for a man, a subscription to Men's health
magazine. Jerry loves his andits not too expensive. I love getting
subscriptions because its a gift that "keeps on giving" all year long. Some
women love the boxes of varied cosmetics packaged and sold at the major Dept
stores with mnay lipsticks and nail colors to play (experiment with). Also,
what about a gift certifiat for a good massage?)

#8 of 13 by bubu on Mon Dec 4 00:24:07 1995:

The massage is a great idea Audrey...I do have an idea for my wife....There
is this womens only gym opening in our town they even have day care...She (my
wife) has expressed an interest in joining...She usually has some free time
in the afternoons while I am at work and our daughter is in school. We do
have a son, but like I said they have a day care center...by the way you
actually gave up a baby grand piano for exercise equipment.Ughhhhhhhhh I
would give an arm for even just an upright...I have to settle though for a
little synth to get me through....

Yea, well, we brought this antique baby grand piano with us when we moved here
from New Jersey. And since our kids are grown and on their own, no one was
playing it. So, he cajolled me into putting an ad in the paper and said,
let's just see if anyone wants it. If they do, "We" can get some excersize
equipment and take care of our bodies. So we did, and they did and then we
did (sold it) and then he started buying the excersize equipment. Piece by
piece until it feels like the inavasion from Vic Tanny's. Guess who uses the
exersize equipment?? Pas moi! And NOW he is talking treadmill. And of
course, like the dummy I am, I am trying to think of ways to help him buy one.
Of course, then I can complain, so it all works out in the long run.
