This item is for system announcements (new computer equipment on Grex, 
system upgrades, Grex meetings, etc.).  Personal announcements should go 
back in item 2; Grex system *problems* belong in the next item (#4).

The Grex Board of Directors regular monthly meeting will be on Tuesday
November 16 at 7:00 p.m.  Location:  Upstairs at Zingerman's Next Door,
422 Detroit Street, Ann Arbor.

The public is invited.

The polls are open now through December 15 for the 1999 Grex Board
of Directors election.  You can get additional information about the
election and/or cast a ballot in two ways:

(1) From a telnet or direct-dial connection, type "vote" or "!vote",
    depending on your prompt.

(2) From the web, open the URL

        http://www.cyberspace.org/cgi-bin/pw/voting-booth

You can vote as many times as you want.  Each time you do, your new
vote replaces any previous one.  This is to support voters who like
to change their minds.  :)

Any user can run the vote program and cast a ballot.  However, for
determining the outcome of the election, the only votes counted will
be those of members in good standing who have paid at least three
months' dues.  If you are uncertain of your membership status,
contact the Grex treasurer, Mark Conger (aruba@cyberspace.org).

The Grex Board of Directors meets this Wednesday, December 15, 7:30pm
upstairs at Zingerman's Next Door, 422 Detroit Street, Ann Arbor.  The
public is invited. See Item 142 in the Coop conference (item:coop,142)
for the agenda.

This will be the last meeting of the current board; the four new electees
take office on January 1.  If you're a member, DON'T FORGET TO VOTE.
Voting in the Board election ends at midnight Wednesday, December 15
(Eastern Standard Time).

(If you're not a member, you can vote too.  But only members' votes will
be used in deciding the outcome of the election.)

Megan Heberlein (eeyore), Marcus Watts (mdw), and Greg Fleming (flem).
