Due to the problems some members are having either coming up with the funds
to donate or being reluctant to donate the suggested ammount, we are once
again changing our donations policy. Any Grex user interested may become a
member as long as they are an Ohio resident. If you wish to make a donation,
please send it by postal mail in the form of cash, check, or money order to:
GrexOhio Headquarters - or - GrexOhio Treasury
c/o Robert Lawson c/o Jim Thompson
4527 Christina Lane 1752 Rushing Way
Columbus, Ohio 43230 Worthington, Ohio 43235
All donations should be made payable to the GrexOhio Treasury.
There have been letters and questions asking why does GrexOhio need
donations. There are several reasons, here are some of them:
- Mailing Lists
Yes, we can use e-mail, but some users do not get online
that often. Also, there are some documents too important to be sent
by e-mail. We also intend to send newsletters out and e-mail seems to
lack that "personal touch" therefore we prefer postal mail.
- Officer's 'grexohio' Account
We suggested a $10 donation for potential officers so that
a full membership to Grex could be purchased for use by elected
officers.
- Meeting Rooms
It is our intention to have quarterly meetings of the
Association of Ohio Grex Users and it was thought that we could rent
a meeting room at a local library. The public is welcome to attend
these meetings (wherever they happen to be).
- Activity Funds
We have several ideas for activities (i.e. amusement parks,
movies, etc.). If possible, we can get group rates. In some cases,
GrexOhio will be expected to make deposits in advance to these
activities. It would be easier to have funds availible in advance
so everytime an activity is planned, members don't have to run to
the bank! :)
To accomplish these goals, a source of income will be needed. Donations will
be an options, so we have come to the conclusion that GrexOhio will depend
mainly on fund raisers. If you have any fund raising ideas or questions,
please respond below or leave e-mail for 'grexohio'.

If the person doesn't get on often enough to read their e-mail that is their own fault, is it not?
Maybe so, Wendy, but as a common courtesy, every now and again we would like to mail a newsletter making sure all of our members are aware of activity dates.
rob we could have a car wash located somewhere lots of people are like a shoping center
Robert, if they want to know about activity date then they can get on and check their mail!
Yes, a Car Wash would be a great idea, Jim! I think we should wait and set a date after elections. :) If we hold the Car Wash at Northland Mall as you suggested, we could make a day of it! A car wash, a movie, shopping, food. What do you think? :) Wendy, postal fees are the least of our worries. I could pay for postal fees with my own pocket change if you so object. However, there are other things to consider (i. e. activities and meeting rooms). We still would like to send a newsletter and an activity schedule will not be the only thing the newsletter will be made of.
** ATTENTION MEMBERS *** *** ATTENTION MEMBERS *** *** ATTENTION MEMBERS ** Please do NOT send any donations to GrexOhio. The association has some legal matters to attend to before any money can be donated. We will keep you informed of any developments concerning this matter. The problem referred to in response number 6 has been resolved. You may continue supporting GrexOhio in the form of donations. :)
Robert You should give up on the idea of "The Personal Touch" Mailed Newsletters...last time I cheaked I don't think anyone in Ohio the frequents Grex pays anything. So people don't want to pay for a news letter
Thank you for your opinion, Mike. Please note that the discussion you are commenting about was in August... it is now November. Have you received a newsletter of any sorts? I think not; I have already given up on that idea (for the moment) some time ago. I will restate what I have said time and time again: if you want to make a donation, fine; if not, don't. Simple enough?
oops I didn't know that was resolved, ignore my response in the other item thingy
