On many occassions, Ohio Grexers have wanted to come and visit all our cyberfriends in Ann Arbor, Michigan. However, we have not been able to do so for various reasons. So, it is our pleasure to finally send a delegation to Ann Arbor this weekend... your good will ambassadors, the Ohio State University Football Team! On Saturday, November 25, No. 12 Michigan will meet up with No. 2 Ohio State in your very own town. Ohio State is currently 11-0 and we are not prepared to let anyone block the path to the Rose Bowl. Last week, OSU won a sweet 42-3 victory over IU's Hoosiers and, no offense, we're ready to take MI on in the same manner. You might wonder what I'm saying here. Let me rephrase then..... GO BUCKS!!!

Football <yawn>... Ohio Grexers up here would be much more
interesting.
BTW, Michigan State is in EAST LANSING -- Michigan is in Ann Arbor.
Yeah, well, I'm not a football fan, but as GrexOhio-dude, I felt it my duty to mention the fact that Ohio State is going to beat you -- no matter what you want to call yourself.
I do not follow many sports and football is down near the bottom of the heap in my book. As such, I do not keep track of when the games are. However, I live only a mile or so from UofM stadium. This year, I have gone out on a saturday to pick up grocerys or run some errand and come back to find that the game has just let out. This means that the Ann Arbor police have put up barracades and turn Ann-arbor/Saline Road into a 5-lane one way avenue from the stadium down to I-94. I live in a burb on the other side of this road with no other access. I have to make a 15 mile, 30 to 45 drive out and around to get to my home that is only a 1/2 mile from the grocery store. Needles to say, I feel like Nuking UM stadium, the players, and all the fans each time this happens. College should be about learning and education, not sports.
Oh great, less than a week after I move a block away from the stadium, it's the Ohio State game? I think I'll spend the day at my parents' house, since I rpobably won't be able to get to my apartment if I leave.
Unless it really is Michigan State and not "Michigan." I can see how it would seem like a trivial difference to an Ohioan, but in Ann Arbor, the Univ of Mich's football rivalry with Michigan State is nearly as intense as it is with Ohio State. (Though even a second-rate school in Michigan can kick Ohio's butt, nyaaah!! :-) (Ok, so my knowledge of football is limited to its impact on traffic that gregc mentioned).
Now I'm confused. The original item just said "michigan" not "michigan state". What are responses #3, #4, and #7 all about? Do I have to worry about traffic this Saturday or not?
Re #7: Yes, I'm sure it's Michigan now, not Michigan State. And Rob, perhaps any second-rate or first-rate school has a *chance* of beating Ohio State, but what are the chances of Michigan beating OSU? None? Slim? Rare? <grin> Re #8: I accidentaly wrote Michigan State in this item's header instead of Michigan (but I think I was correct in saying that Michigan is NO. 12 right now, wasn't I?).
Well, *I* will be at the game, as I am at almost every game, and though I'll no doubt be worn out from events of the night before. (We'll probly lose, but I have twenty bucks riding on it with one of my vendors, and had to bet on Michigan as a point of honor. That's usually a good way to make them lose)
I have made it a point never to willingly set foot inside the stadium, unless I am being paid for it, which occaisionally happens when I once took the Indiana coaching staff from the Campus Inn to the Stadium, and two weeks ago when I took a satellite technician from the Clarion to the Stadium. The traffic has never bothered me, I use about 20 different ways to dart in and out of the tra. depending on the attitude of the perns in the back sat. If you are nasty, you can be sure that I will do my best to find a log jam, if you're nice, you'll get near the stadium, and only have to walk just a bit. SO BE NICE TO EVERYBODY!!!
Michigan *was* ranked #12, before they lost to then #19 Penn State on Saturday. Now Michigan is ranked #20 or #18, depending on your poll. Only an ignoramus from Ohio (redundant) would confuse Michigan with lowly michigan state. That's like confusing OSU with Ohio University (or is that University of Ohio? :-).
I think any Ohio State fan needs to be concerned with their chances of going to the Rose Bowl..I think they will but how unfortununate that they wont be in the running for a national title just because they will be going to the Rose Bowl.
Just what is a "buckeye" ? (other than a useless nut?)
RE #12: Ohio University (that's the official title) is in Athens, Ohio.
I think that the OSU fans use the buckeye to pelt their teams following losses. Is the buckeye edible? Does the grexOhio dude have recipies? Do share, won't you?
Ohioans are just sore because they got Toledo and we got the UP, which I might add is prettier than any part of Toledo current titleholder of Armpit of the World). <omni ducks>
Re #16: I think I might need to pt Buckeye recipies in another item... perhaps the cokking cf (there *is* a cooking cf, isn't there?). Re #17: True. :( Sorry for leashing my frustrations out on you all. <evilgrin>
Take peanut butter, roll it into a ball dip into chocolate, and voila! A buckeye! <g>
Sounds like the perfect size to clog an artery...but Mmmmm.... :-) Robert, there's indeed a cooking cf. Post your buckeye recipes, and I'll post some wolverine recipes in return...nothing like wolverine tail roasted over an open fire.

Sounds like something you'd sing during the holidays... Roasting wolverine tails by the open fire...
..Bill's nuts roasting on an open fire...
. . . roosters posturing on an open system . . .
actually, i often thought the mascot of a buckeye was a little weak, except that they are poisnous, oh by the way, I DO live IN COLUMBUS ohio, and I KNOW the difference between michigan and michigna state! SO not AL ohioans are clueless!
I think, just to be perverse, I think we will go to Ohio on Saturday, when they all come up here for the game. But we will go to the Museum and eat Mexican food.
What, no pillaging and burning? Will you eat the Mexican food in the Museum?
Re #25: No Megan, not clueless all together.... just when it comes to football. :)
Is anyone going to the game in Ann Arbor?
Probably about 107,000 of us, yep.
I meant anyone who is reading this item! <robert shakes his head (robert just doesn't know)>
Who is playing? Is it the Dolphins?
I dont even think My Dolphins could O.S.U. at this stage of the game
Nevermind...
Meg is Grex's official representative to the football games. We trust her to tell us if we missed anything interesting.
I drove by the PHS parking lot tonight, and noticed that had a lot of campers in it with Ohio license plates. Camping out all night across the street from the Stadium seems like a bit much for me. As for me, I won't be at the game, but I'll probably have to walk by the crowds, which I'm expecting to be pretty bad, as I just moved into an apartment very close to the stadium.
Final Score - MICHIGAN 31 -- OHIO STATE 23 But let's show what good sports we are and give a cheer for the people of the Heart of It All (as their license plates read so beautifully in red script on a white background). TWO! FOUR! SIX! EIGHT! WHO DO WE APPRECIATE? BUCKEYES! BUCKEYES! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Oh well, you win some, you lose some (or so I've been told, but I've never experienced the latter <grin>).
It was a good game. I have no voice.
