Adobe Systems on Monday unveiled a $3.4bn all-share acquisition of software peer Macromedia as the US group best known for its Acrobat programme moves to extend its grip on the market for creating computer documents. The deal to take over Macromedia, which makes Dreamweaver and Flash Web-design, came as Adobe announced a new $1bn share buyback.
