Are there any folks here who are local to Ann Arbor, like to sing, and like even more to prove a point? Please e-mail me.

Awww, it's no fair! I ain't close enough.
Dammit...I live in Kazoo.
Does this require the ability to carry a tune? ;) (I love to sing, but even with a handbasket the tune gets away from me)
We both like to sing. What point are you trying to prove? JIm is a low tenor and I have sung anything from second tenor to second soprano. Bach preferred. Have you tried the classical music conference?
Actually, I forgot to mention that I`m looking for tenors and basses. Who are gay.
I like to sing, but I'm not all that good at it, and I'm not sure what range I'd be.
Ezperience and talent not necessary, but you should like to sing.
i like to sing. i'm a lesbian. most of the time i can carry a tune in a barrel, and my voice is pretty low for a woman, so i might be able to get away with singing tenor. and i *love* to make a point. :)
If you end up being short on tenors (most choruses are) and are willing to not discriminate against non-gays, and the rehearsals are within a mile or so of Main and Miller, we might be interested, especially if at least some of the music is classical or at least folk or old musicals. Jim has a good sense of pitch and I have better rhythm, so between us we can carry a tune.
Well, this choir is always looking for new members. Anyone can join, sexual orientation notwithstanding. It`s just that there are a couple of homo- phobes in the choir who just helped a great choir-director candidate not get the job becasue they would be "uncomfortable" around him. So I`d kinda like to surround these two with some wonderful men, even if for just a few weeks. This is a contemporary gospel choir in downtown Ann Arbor.
I'm tempted, but I really can't sing none too well at all.
A music person who can't sing much? Hmmm... we could get you good enough for the group..
It's too bad I don't have time. I have a good singing voice, moderately deep and fairly rich, and have more than one lifestyle strike against me (queer, poly, Dom), but with my curent schedule, and as a pagan, I'd be hard-pressed to justify an ann Arbor gospel group. It might be fun, though.
Yes, a music person who can't sing much. Alas.
Lemme guess-- you're an instrumentalist?
Yep - piano. Also harmonica, but not very well.
Keep at it. My branch president (branches and wards in the LDS church are kinda like parishes, if you don't know) plays kinda nice, and I figure he's played it for a long time.
My friend Meg and I have set an appointment to talk with the senior pastor about this and other disappointing scenarios regarding gay issues (no, neither of us is gay, but it seems most of our friends are). No idea what will come of it.
