Hey, I have tons of Periwinkle and I found some with yellow & green variagated leaves. Does anyone know if this is a common variety or is it some kind of mutation. The plants do not appear to be stressed, they just cropped up in the middle of other green leafed variety. The flower is still the violet-blue but the leaves are dark green with yellow edging.

I 'I'll break it up and transplant it as it propagates. Maybe I can get a small patch of this stuff!
Quoting from "Taylor's Master Guide to Gardening" (a prize possession) p 516 (Vinca major) A variegated form with white blotches on the leaves is often used in window box or other containers. It spills over the edge and combines well with upright growers such as geraniums or colues. Maybe you have an escapee (?). There is no mention of a variegated form of Vinca minor. This is my kind of plant... it says they survive for decades with no care.
(that was coleus, of course, you probably guessed that it wasn't colues.)
Well, I've got 15 plants - all transplanted into their own area now. The newest growth is brilliant lemon yellow and the oldest leaves are normal dark green. From a distance, the overall color is yellow. We'll see . . .
