I've reset my Backtalk/Fronttalk status and now in FT I'm getting extra 
pager prompts like "(END)" after displaying item or help text.

I remember the same thing when I first joined Grex, because FT goes into
 newbie mode for new users to help them get used to the interface, and
that  there is a way to turn off the extra prompts for users who become 
accustomed to the interface.

However, I can't remember or find the method for turning of FT newbie 
mode. If I'm not misremembering, can anyone help me?

That's actually an artifact of the pager (less).  You can work around
it by setting an option in your .cfonce file; I forget exactly what
the option is, but check your old .cfonce file and look for the pager
definition (and the relevant flag to less/more).

I believe less also lets you set an environment variable for its flags.
I don't recall the name off the top of my head, but check the man page.
