This is the item to discuss Clinton's environmental record. I have the feeling he has done a poor job on the environmet but I know very few specfics other than his passage of the "salvage logging" rider to some bill that has been very damaging to old growth forests in the Pacific Northwest, and the U.S.'s realtively weak stands at the Rio and Tokoyo summits. Does anyone have anymore information good or bad about Clinton's environmental record?

Errr make that Kyoto and excuse the previous spelling errors. So slick Willie has managed to avoid scrutiny of his environmental record? What's up here?
Clinton's environmental is characterized by compromise. There is not drilling (yet) in the AWLP, but there was that underhanded clearcutting of old growth. He is pushing the global warming issue, but simultaneously delaying it. I cannot tell, however, whether he is addressing the *possible* so as not to be stymied in other matters by pushing the *impossible*. By the way - you can scrutinize his environmental record all you want - nothing is secret.
Where can I look at his envoronmetal record both official and a critique (maybe NRDF, or Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund, etc? I would assume it's on the web somewhere , right? H opefully accessable by Lynx my only current form of web access.
You can search the web with lynx with one of the search sites. I get a lot of magazines from environmental organizations and subscribe to such mailinglists, so I read/see a lot of comment on Clinton's environmental policies. He is criticized a lot by *both* sides of environmental issues, for not giving all the greens want nor all the polluters want.
