Grex Enigma Item 399: The Other Adventures of Lars McGinty
Entered by remmers on Sun May 11 17:33:43 UTC 2008:

"Well, time is certainly a fungible quantity," he observed. "Quite exactly so, in fact. Time originally allocated for one purpose can easily be used for another. Perhaps too easily."

"Oh, poppycock and bobbypins!" I exclaimed in exasperation. "The events of time past are unalterable, and future time is time which does not yet exist. The future is merely a concept we hold in our heads. It is pure mental fabrication. It does not deserve to be called a 'quantity' at all."

Overhead, the falcons swooped and soared, making lazy yet ominous circles in the clouded sky.

We sat silently for a few minutes as he tried to concoct a response to my outburst. Tried in vain, of course.

The End

Poppycock and bobbypins, indeed!

[I figured Enigma was the most appropriate place to reappear.]

Why are you wasting your time in this wasteland of mis-spun electrons and
terminal terminal tans? Begone, foolish onlooker, lest a vast nothingness
devour your life!
