I sensed that I was being watched by the dark one,
but I did not know where he was. A feeling of
oppression overtook me, and my white body shook
with fear as I felt the force of his sorrow.
Looking up, I saw two birds far overhead, circling
the moon. But the moon did not care. Then the birds
vanished, and there was nothing.
In the forest, another bird sang in fear, its song
awakening the sorrowful spirit of the dark one.
Thus invoked, his spirit and mine met and mingled
high in the air. He took root in the ground below,
now master of what had been my dominion, as I spread
over all the earth - my spirit was everywhere.

Martha seems to be in a darkish mood today.

And the string. Don't forget the string! Lots and lots...
of lobsters.
and black scarves, and woman's magazines, and power shortages, and tenants living in condemned rent-free buildings, and it's all Lynn's fault.
