Grex Enigma Item 170: What if life where perfect?
Entered by carl on Tue Apr 5 23:36:22 UTC 1994:

from "Life 101" by John-Roger & Peter McWilliams:

What if life were perfect?

What if you lived in a perfect world of perfect people
and perfect possessions, with everyone and everything
doing the perfect thing at the perfect time?

What if you had everything you wanted, and only
what you wanted, exactly as you wanted, precisely when
you wanted it?

What if, after luxuriating in this perfect world for the
perfect length of time, you started feeling uneasy about
the predictability of perfection?

What if, after a perfect length of additional time, you
began thinging, "There seems to be a lack of risk, adven-
ture and fun in perfection. 'Having it my way' all the time
is starting to get dull."

What if, after yet another perfect length of time, you
decided, "Perfection is a perfect bore."

What if, at that point in your perfect world, you
noticed for the first time a button marked, "Surprise."

What if you walked over, considered all that might be
contained in the concept of "surprize," decided,
"Anything's better than perfect boredom," took a deep
breath, pushed the button...

...and found yourself where you are right now--
feeling what you're feeling now, thinking what you're
thinking now, with everything in your life precisely
the way if is now--reading this [item].

If life were perfect, I would be able to access any thing any time I wanted.

For many years I have been striving to enter the perfect response, a
goal which I have attained at this very moment.

Personally, I'd be delighted to discover myself suddenly where I
am now, thinking what I am thinking now and feeling what I am feeling
now. It's like being a guest at a banquet, and when the food arrives,
realizing that I'm hungrier than I had thought.

Anything would be better than being where I am now, about to be eaten at
a hungry banquet while perfect people respond thinking about accessing
timely guests... THIS IS MADNESS!

All fines are $10
All vishnu's are fine
Therefore, all vishnu's are $10
