Entered by carl on Tue Aug 24 09:52:52 UTC 1993:

     Spring has sprung,

        Fall has fell,

     Summer is here,

        And it's hotter than usual.

Summer's here, curse the lucks,
I think summer really is a drag.

It's kind of like the one that Little Johnny wrote for class one day.
The teacher was asking different kids to recite their poems and she
called on Little Johnny. He stood and read:

I went to the creek to take a swim.

I hung my pants upon a limb.

I slipped and fell from the grass,

And landed in water up to my knees.

The teacher looked at Little Johnny and said, "That's nice, but it
doesn't rhyme." Little Johnny looked at her and said, "I know--the
water wasn't deep enough."

Reminds me of the story Byron tells in his notes to Don Juan about
the time John Sylvester challenged Ben Jonson to a rhyming contest.
Sylvester started with:

   I, John Sylvester
   Lay with your sister.

Ben Jonson then replied with:

   I, Ben Jonson,
   Lay with your wife.

To which John Sylvester objected, "But that is not rhyme!" Ben Jonson
replied, "No, but it's true."
