OK, this is the "trees" item. It refers mostly to the larger aspects of house problems (root invasion) instead of the big leafy growning things directly.

So what is the rule on trees that grow exactly on the property line? What if you want to cut one down and have a difficult neighbor? What if it grows out of the property line and leans over your property? What if it grows on the other side and leans over your property? How about if you just want to trim it heavily?
I would think any trimming on your side would be legal and ok, even if the tree were completely on your neighbor's side, but grew into (or over) your property. If it is growing on the line and you have a hostile neighbor, it is tough going regardless of the legalities. If you cut it down, ensure that it falls on your property. I took a quick scan in a search engine but did not see anything covering these questions.
You can trim anything on your side of the property line, as may the city for keeping sidewalks passable, etc. Any advice on removing 50' plus Walnut trees on a fenceline? I don't want to but the Washtenaw County Road Commision says I MUST to get a driveway permit! Grrrrr!!!
any plans for the wood?
You bet! If I have to take them down I'll have the wood sawn into rough lumber and make good use of it.
