interesting. user consent, if required could be assumed through use of a disclaimer warning that going to or accessing the site is proof of implicit consent. this technique is already common with other things like sweepstakes entries, etc.
Thanks for entering this, Valerie. I'll try to make it if I can. Barry Bagels is not far from where I live.
I think I will try to go, too.

if spam comes uup (regardless of the primary topic of the meeting) may i suggest a first line which instructs how to get off, and a content size limit of 250 characters after that single line.
This item now linked to the cyberpunk conf your one stop conference for discussing issues of net culture such as privacy, encryption, ateempts of goverments to censor the internet, the direction the WWW is heading, etc.
I'll try to be there if I wake up in time tomorrow morning.
I'm afraid I slept through it. :( Anyone else go?
I heard there were more people there than the space could accomodate. Unfortunately, I wasn't there myself either.
I slept through it too.
hey there. well i live in chicago. And well the bagel place is a little out of my range..but im very interested to find out some of the issues described and some of the chat that went about.. if someone could email me about the conference that would be great otherwise just post some stuff here to let me know what happened there (VERY inTerSteD) jackedin
John and I went. I'd estimate she had about 18 people there and that a number of them were quite involved with the Internet on the technical level. There was time for anyone who cared to comment on an issue to do so. And I had the feeling Ms. Rivers already knew quite a bit about the Internet and she isn't crazy about charging in with legislation to fix problems that might be best addressed by the private sector. I left feeling quite pleased she is our congressperson.
I did too. Among the internet experts present were William Simpson, author of various internet protocols, and Peter Honeyman, who's made heavy-duty contributions to email and data transfer technology, distributed file systems, etc.
Re 15. Yup. Bill Simpson stopped by our house afterwards to ask why I hadn't been there.
