that don't belong in the conference addition / deletion items.  (Mostly
stuff like fw changes and agora rolling.)

Busy day - 

Installed mneme as the fw of rpg1 & rpg2.  (Looks like prior fw gandalf
was reaped back in November.)

While installing mneme, i noticed that both cf's config files said "rpg1"
 - which might explain the problems with always-new items, fix not
working, etc. in rpg1 & rpg2.  Changed it to "rpg2" in /bbs/rpg2/config,
which seemed to cure the problems.  (Pico did think i wasn't a member of
the rpg2 cf. after that, so i had to join & fix all.) 

Entered responses in rpg1, rpg2, and amalgam saying what i'd done (wrt/
both mneme and the cross-link). 

User snafu (fw of zone) appears to have been reaped recently.  There are
2 other fw's of zone, so i just entered a response noting the event in
zone. 

Updated the old*, new*, and seasonal names for agora in /bbs/conflist.
(In preparation for rolling to agora28/winter early this week.)  

Put the standard announcement items in agora28, opened it up, and 
updated the links in /bbs/conflist.  Looks like the crowd was pressing
against the door as i unlocked it....

Fixed a (presumed) typo in /bbs/conflist - both "oldrpg" and "rpg" pointed
to the rpg2 cf.  Now "oldrpg" points to rpg1 and "rpg" points to rpg2.
(Discussed this ahead with the fw of rpg1 & rpg2; the new scheme also fits
with the descriptions in /bbs/public.txt.)

Per his request, i removed robh as fw of the scifi cf.  That leaves dam 
as the only fw of scifi; i announced my action & the situation in scifi.

The former fw of the space cf (jsw) was reaped back in mid-December.  No
one seems interested in the job and space isn't a very active cf, so i
made cfadm the fw of space.  (Users wanting fw actions in space will
generally need to e-mail cfadm.)  I announced this in space and added
a couple lines to the login file about it. 

Per his request, i removed robh as fw of the web cf.  That leaves ajax
and valerie as fw's of web; i announced my action in web.

User bubu (co-fw of homme) appears to have been reaped.  That leaves 
omni as the only fw of homme; i announced the situation in the homme cf.

Per new fw hhsrat, opened up the new Hangout cf. to everyone and added a
line about it to /bbs/public.txt.  Hhsrat asked for an announcement in
the motd if i could do that; i don't have the access & don't know the
policy.

Fw toking of the poetry2 cf requested that the cf be rolled; i created
a new poetry3 cf and partly reorganized the names for the 3 poetry cf's
in /bbs/conflist.  I'll switch po_etry to point to poetry3 there after
the poetry2 fw's have had a chance to do the new login, logout, etc. 
I'll announce this in more detail in poetry2. 

At the request of fw mooncat of pets, i added carla as a fw of the pets 
conference.  I'll also announce this in the pet cf. 

Rolled agora - added the standard items, updated /bbs/conflist, and 
opened the new agora29 / Spring '99 up to the public.  (I created agora29 
& agora30 a while ago as closed conferences in preparation for the spring
& summer rolls.)  

User shaymu, fairwitness of the rp1 conference, no longer has an account
on grex.  The rp1 cf hasn't seen activity for years, so i just made cfadm
the fw and put a note to that effect in rp1's login file.  (Note:  there
are both rp1 and rpg1 cf's - not the same!  If the fw's of the role-
playing-games-related cf's want something different done, they can just
email me.) 

User mwarner, fairwitness of the disabilities conference, no longer has an
account on grex.  The disabilities cf hasn't been very active lately, so i
just made cfadm the fw, added a note about it to the login screen, and 
entered a response asking users to discuss it, ask questions, pick (a) new
fw, etc. if they don't want cfadm to be their cf's fw. 

User eldrich, one of the two fw's of zone, appears to have fallen victim
to the disk space recycling program.  I noted the situation in the zone
cf. and requested e-mail if the users want to add another fw.

User orinoco asked to resign as fairwitness of the smiley and zone
conferences.  No one else in those cf's was interested in taking over
as fw, so i made cfadm the fw of both.  I announced this in both cf's
and put notes in the login screens.

Rolled agora - added the standard items, updated /bbs/conflist, and 
opened the new agora30 / Summer '99 up to the public.  Once again, a
savvy user was ready & waiting to take the #1!!!!! spot.

At his request, i removed user toking as a fairwitness of the poetry 
conferences.  That leaves user arianna as the sole fw of those cf's.
Entered a response in poetry3 noting that users could pick another
co-fw, etc.

User bjorn, co-fairwitness of the amalgam, rp3, and rp4 conferences,
appears to have fallen victim to the disk space recycling program.  
None of these conferences is very active; i e-mailed orinoco, who is
the remaining fw in all 3 cf's, with the news.  I did *not* announce
the change in any of the 3 cf's, but said that i would do so if 
orinoco asked. 

User hross, co-fairwitness of the newsletter conference, seems to have
fallen victim to the disk-space-recycling program.  I e-mailed mta and
nephi, the remaining fw's of newsletter, but did not announce the change
in the (inactive) newsletter cf.  (I announce it there if a fw asks.)

Rolled agora - added the standard items, updated /bbs/conflist, and
opened the new agora31 / Fall'99 up to the public.  (Broke from my
prior habit of doing it right at midnight, and the "#1!!!'ers" 
seem to have been caught off-guard:) 

Worked on (previously damaged & unusable) agora12.  Made a config file
for it, added it to /bbs/conflist, and noted my actions in a new /bbs/
agora12/login file.  Regenerated a sum file, and it *seems* to be usable
now.....

At the request of krj, who's currently a fairwitness in the music 
conference, i made scott a fw in the music conference.  There has
been some discussion of this in music, and i announced my action
there. 

Rolled the auction cf. - created the new auction5, copied stuff from 
auction4, and updated /bbs/conflist.  The new auction is a closed cf.
 - i'll open it to the general public when the fairwitnesses have got
it ready for business.

Rolled agora - added the standard items, updated /bbs/conflist, and
opened the new agora32 / Winter'99-'00 up to the public.

Opened the new auction5 cf. per fw aruba's request.  

User canis, fw of the regurge, scruples, sports, and sports2 conferences,
no longer has an account on grex.  (Probably the disk space recycling
program got him after a few months of not logging on.)  I noted the
situation in each of those cf's, emailed co-fw's or former co-fw's where
possible, and will hang around those cf's for a while to answer questions,
install new fw's, etc. as needed.  (Exception: the original sports cf. has
no items and is no longer accessable through PicoSpan, so i just noted the
situation to its remaining "fw".) 

Created the decorum conference with user prp as fairwitness; it's 
currently closed while prp works setting things up.

Rolled agora - added the standard items, updated /bbs/conflist, and
opened the new Agora33 / Spring'00 up to the public.

Busy Evening -

Noted in the fantasy conference that fairwitness plork no longer had an
account on grex (probably reaped by the disk-space-recycling program after
a period of inactivity).  This leave anne and jimj as fw's in that cf.;
i noted the situation in the fantasy cf.

Per the request of omni, sole fairwitness of the sports conference,
i added jep as a second fw of that cf (aka as hockey). 

Per request & discussion here in coop, i created the twinkie cf. and made
user twinkie its fw.  The cf is currently closed so he can set things up.

Gritted my teeth and attacked the problem of too little space left on 
the /bbs filesystem:  Agora20 through Agora29 are now "living" on /a;
any changes (responses, freezes, censoring, etc.) made to anything in
those conferences may be lost when /bbs is re-united in a bigger space
in the future.

User void sent me e-mail a while ago resigning from both cfadm and cf. 
fw positions (coop11, glb, and recovery cf's).  I've delayed, but today 
removed void as fw of those cf's.  This leaves dang as the sole fw here 
in coop, and no fw for glb or recovery.  I'll note the situation in all
three cf's and solicit nominations in the latter two. 

User dang has resigned as fw of this (coop11) cf.  This leaves cfadm
as the default fw (seeking to be replaced) of this cf.  I've updated 
the config & login files for this cf., and will note the situation in
the current fw discussion item. 

Added the standard items, updated /bbs/conflist, and opened Agora37
(Spring) to the public.  Also rolled the auction cf. (to Auction6) and
eliminated the stillborn (never opened to the public) Decorum cf.

It appears that user rlawson lost his grex account to the disk space
recycling program after a period of inactivity.  He was the fairwitness
of the grexohio conference and co-fw (with carson) of the reality cf.
I've noted the situation in both those cf's and e-mailed carson about it.

Per the Board's vote, i've installed cmcgee as the fairwitness of the
coop conference.
